Lovely Thoughts of You

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share my last July Reveal card. This time I am using the lovely Sketched Pear Blossom Set 904.

I began, using the Stamp Platform, stamping the image on white cardstock in Clear Mark and heat embossing with White Detail. Then I made a paint palette with an acrylic block and dropped a few Aquaflow marker colors on the block. The image was colored in with a water brush, picking up the colors from the block.

I stamped the image again with Clear Mark and heat embossed with White Detail,
this time on Kraft cardstock.

The color was bleached out of the image, using an aqua brush that was filled
with bleach.

The colored version was fussy cut, using the mini 5" scissors, into little half inch
squares. They were then popped up, with foam pads to their matching places
on top of the bleached version.

I made a frame from the Kraft cardstock with the Sizzix Dotted Oval die and cut
out the same frame from a piece of foam, using the Tangerine machine. These
were adhered together. Then I ran the Copic marker around the edges.

The frame was then sprayed with Antique Gold Mica Mist.

A piece of Copper Feathers Specialty Cardstock was cut in the Tonic Guillotine. The guillotine cuts through the fabric papers beautifully.

A few flowers were then sprayed with the same Antique Gold Mica Mist.

The sentiment from the set was stamped in the Stamp Platform on Kraft cardstock with Clear Mark and heat set with Gold Detail.

This was then die cut with a smaller oval from the Sizzix set and some Indian Gold Embellishment Mousse was sponged around the edges.

I dipped 4 large brads into my Versamark pad and dipped them in Halo embossing powder. Holding the brads with tweezers, I heat embossed them to give them some gold sparkle. A hole was punched in the tag and one of the brads was put through the sentiment and one of the flowers. The other three were for the three flowers.

The card was assembled at this point with the frame being attached to the specialty paper square. The flowers were attached with tape and foam pads around the frame and the brad for the sentiment was put through to the back of the specialty paper. The specialty paper was then attached to Harvest Gold Mirror Cardstock.

A few drops of Honey Gold Glitter drops were added around the card and on top of the flowers to simulate dew drops.

That finished off my card for today. Hope you've enjoyed my share? Below is a list of the products that I used:

Welcome To Your New Home!

Welcome back!

Today I want to share a monochromatic "Welcome to your New Home" card. For my card today, I am using the new July Reveal Set: Vintage Country House Set 911.

I began with stamping the image in Hybrid Metro Grey, using the Stamp Platform.

I then went on to make the circular frame, cutting with the Tonic Circle Layering Basics Die Set, using the largest and the third largest dies, on the Tangerine. This was then sprayed with Nuvo Mica Mist Silver Smoke.

I cut out the image using the second to largest die, so that it would fit behind the "frame". It was then covered in Clear Mark Ink and heat embossed twice with Clear Detail and then Clear Mark was applied again and then Super Thick Clear was heat embossed from the bottom.

Once the embossing powder was "dry", I bent the piece a couple of times to  crack the finish and Hybrid Metro ink was burnished into the cracks, using my finger tool. A tissue was used to take off any grey that was on the surface and  then I heat embossed with another layer of Clear Detail. I cut a piece of black foam, the same size as the frame, to pop up the frame and the frame was assembled and attached over the image using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The chipboard key was applied with an old Versamark ink pad before being heat embossed twice with Silver Detail. (I keep an old pad just for chipboard, so that I don't ruin my newer embossing pads).  A little more embossing ink was applied and then I added a little Magic Speckle. This was then heated from the bottom to give the key the mottled look.

On to the card base - love the easiness of these easel cards - yet making them a little extra special. Take a A2 card and fold the front panel in half. Since I was doing the black and white monochromatic card, I used my favorite Marco's Paper, black on one side and white on the other. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" and then cut a piece of black to put at the base.  The inside sentiment was stamped on the white portion in Clear Mark and heat embossed with Black Detail, with the use of the Stamp Platform.

I stamped the Welcome sentiment in Clear Mark and heat embossed with White Detail on black cardstock and then die cut with the Spellbinders Back to Basic Tag.

This would become the stopper for the easel card. The key was attached with a little bit of thread before the sentiment tag was attached with mounting tape. The framed image was attached to the front of the card base to finish off my card.

Happy Birthday America!

Hi there,

Hope my American friends had a lovely day yesterday. I'm up first with the start of the new July Reveal. I know I'm a day late with this card, please forgive me, but I thought it may be fun to  show a different feel to the new Emma's Best Birthday Set 902, with a little help from Baxter - July 4th digi set 901!!!

I thought it would be fun to combine Baxter and Emma into a Fourth of July celebration card. So I started by printing the digis of the flag and Baxter on my computer.

The flag was cut down to 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and then Baxter was fussy cut with the 5" mini scissors. I deliberately left a little white edge around him.

Emma was stamped in Hybrid Black Shadow ink, using the Stamp Platform and was then colored in with the Nuvo Alcohol Pens and she also was fussy cut leaving a little white edging.

The sentiment (from the Happy Birthday set) was stamped, also using the Stamp Platform, in Nuvo Clear Mark ink and heat embossed with Cerulean on to a scrap of white cardstock.

The star was cut out from the flag using the Tonic Shaker and Die set with the Tangerine.

The little stars from the Spellbinders Star Circles were mounded on top of the sentiment and the shaker element was placed over the top.

The shaker element was then placed in behind the star hole in the flag.

I used the Tonic Mirror Cardstocks Cobalt Velour and Ruby Red for the card base.

Some Gypsy Red and Denim Velvet Glitters were added to the cake icing with the Nuvo Smooth Precision Pen.

Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew was applied to the flag poles, the tray, the candle flame, Emma's shoes and Baxter's nose to finish off my little scene.

I hope you have enjoyed my share today.
