Green Red and Gold Christmas

Hi there! Finally the rain dances have been answered! We have rain and it feels good to hear is coming down quite steadily! Today, I am back with another card for the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge, where it is always anything goes!

I had picked up two recollections rubber stamps a few months ago, which I thought went well together since there was holiday foliage within the letters of "Merry".

I stamped the sentiment on green cardstock with Versafine Clair Cheerful ink, which I then applied Detail Gold embossing powder to and then this was heat set.

Using the same ink and Gold Detail embossing powder, I stamped the foliage stamp on to the red cardstock and heat embossed again.

I taped the red panels above and below the sentiment panel and then cut it to a 5 1/4" square.

I decided to add some green and red ribbon to dress it up a bit.

The panel was then taped to a 6" square card base. Hope this has given you some inspiration to join along with us at the Holly and Ivy Challenge. Please take a minute to go back and see what my teamies have made!

Till next time,

Shona

Sleigh Ride

Hi there and welcome to a very hot and hazy August! Ugh! We have our 4-H Fair this week and had set-up yesterday - it was brutal out there! Anyway, here I am thinking of nice cool temperatures and a sleigh ride - it helps a little!!! Ok, maybe not!!!

Winter activities is the theme over at the Christmas Craft Creations Challenge.

I brayered my background on to glossy cardstock with the Creole Kaleidacolor ink pad.

The scene was stamped in Versafine Claire Nocturne ink using a Sparkle n' Sprinkle set called Sleigh Ride! I stamped it using the Stamping Platform, so that the black ink would be bold over the glossy cardstock.

Double sided tape was layered over white cardstock and ripped to represent a snow bank. It was then attached to the bottom of the scene, just below the hooves and rails of the sleigh.

After removing the protective covering of the tape, Twinkling Clouds flocking was then applied to the sticky surface.

That finished my card for today. Hope you are inspired to take a look at the rest of my teamies over on the Challenge blog, and to join in our challenge?

Till next time,

Shona

A Batch of Christmas Cheer

Hi there and welcome to a hot and humid August! The temperatures are unbearable right now and so much in the yard has just gone into dormancy or died. Worst thing is we are not supposed to water in the yard! So who knows what will happen going forward! There are glimpses of rain in the forecast and then boom they disappear! My header today is a newbie for me, I have finally discovered the Spicebush Swallowtail caterpillars and they are the cutest little things ever!!

My card today is for the Holly and the Ivy Challenge, where it is always anything goes. I had this cute little set of baking buddies from last year and had the perfect background paper for it too. I hope you like it?

So the little baker pup and the sentiment from the same set ( Inky Antics) was stamped in Versafine Claire Nocturne ink and then colored in with some Stampin' Up watercolor pencils. He was then cut out with a square crisscross die.

I cut a piece of the Crimson gingham paper for the background at layered it to the white card base. The little focal piece was then attached with foam pads for some dimension and then a piece of gingham ribbon was tied over the left hand side of the card to finish it off.

I hope this has encouraged you to join in the fun over at the Holly and Ivy Challenge this time! We look forward to seeing you there!

Till next time,

Shona
