HAI Holiday Greetings

Hi there and welcome back to my blog. Dark-eyed Junko waiting his turn for the window feeder is my header this month! We got yet another dumping of snow at the weekend! Looking forward to Spring!

My card today is for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, where as always, it is anything Christmas goes!

I chose this stencil (Holiday Greetings and Holly) from Dreamweaver and used the watercolor paints with a paintbrush to color it in.

I scored around the edges of the focal panel and then layered it to an olive green card base.

I added five gold self-adhesive gems to the card to finish off.

Hope I've inspired you to join in the challenge

Till next time,

Shona

CCC Icicle Christmas

Hi there and welcome back to my blog! We got another dumping of snow today, so my header is a little Dark-eyed Junko, waiting his turn to get to the window feeder at the kitchen!

Today my card is for the Christmas Craft Creations challenge, where they would like to see your cards featuring either an embossing folder or a stencil!

I chose to play with the Cuttlebug Christmas Words embossing Folder.

I inked up the inside of the embossing folder with Paradise Versafine Clair ink and then ran it through my embossing machine.

I then sprinkled some Sparkle embossing powder over the wet ink and heat embossed it.

Next I cut the Joy Craft Winter Wishes icicle die out of navy cardstock.

I inked the icicle up with Versamark and then applied Sparkle and heat embossed that too.

It was attached to the front panel with a silver brad.

This was then attached to a glossy white card base.

That finished up my card for today!

I hope I've inspired you to get out an embossing folder or a stencil to join in on the challenge this month?

Till next time,

Shona

HAI Cardinal Joy

Hi there and welcome to February and more than half way through the winter! It's all about cardinals today! Outside the kitchen window in the snow and inside huddled in a painted embossed wreath! This is my card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, which as always is anything goes.

I used the Cuttlebug wreath embossing folder together with Dees Distinctively die cut.

After embossing the wreath with white cardstock, I painted using a water brush and various colors from the watercolor palette. The cardinals were cut out of the die cut and attached to the wreath with some tape and foam pads. I stamped Joy, from the stamp set below.

This was heat embossed with Red Apple embossing powder.

The front panel was layered to red cardstock and then to a white card base. A red ribbon was tied to the spine of the card to finish off.

That finished my card for today! Hope I've given you some inspiration to join in the challenge. Take a look at all the other inspiration from my team mates here!

Till next time,
