BLEACHED FRIEND OF MINE

This is a scheduled post today, as I am in Scotland at my son, Struan's graduation and then jumping down to Italy for a week to visit old friends tomorrow. I am sharing a card using the new Wild Rose Stamp Set 785 and sentiment from the Nasturtium 2 Set 783, from the June Reveal.

To begin, I stamped the Wild Rose image in the four corners of the black cardstock square in Versamark and heat embossed with White Detail. The leaves and petals were "colored" using an Aqua Pen filled with bleach. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Black Detail and I just tore around the saying. I used three copper brads to attach to the center of the front.  Sheer gold ribbon was wrapped around the bottom left corner and was attached to the back of the panel. This was layered to Kraft cardstock, which was pierced.

A gold brad was dipped in Versamark and heat embossed with Black Detail. This was then wrapped around a little hand made bow and inserted through the ribbon to the back. The front panel was layered to black and finally to a white base to finish.

NASTURTIUM SYMPATHY

Hi there,

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card made with the May reveal Nasturtium #2 Set 783.

To begin with, I stamped the nasturtium panel in Versamark on black cardstock and heat embossed with Gold Detail.

I put some bleach into my Waterbrush and colored in the leaves. I let the bleach do it's magic! If you go over areas a couple of times, it will give varied results in the colors. Because the embossed lines are raised, the bleach tends to stay within the lines more easily than if were just stamped.

I made a second panel exactly the same way and then for the third panel, I colored in the flowers instead of the leaves! After trimming the three panels, I taped them together (turning the flower-colored one the other way) and attached them to a piece of Gold Mirror Cardstock.

I made a little sheer gold bow (with my Craft-Dee BowZ tool - this makes these awesome little bows so easy to do!) and attached it to the corner of the base of the card. Then a big gold brad was attached to the center of the bow, through the panel. It was then layered to a black card base.

The sentiment, from Sympathy Set 579, was stamped in Versamark and also heat embossed with the Gold Detail. I cut out the saying using the Spellbinders Media Mixage Die (MD2-001). Then I took the Versamarker and edged the die cut with Gold Detail. This gave a bit of a distressed look to the sentiment. This was then tucked under the bow and attached with a Foam square to give it a little dimension.

SHOPPING IS MY CARDIO!

Well that is actually a lie - I am really not a shopper!  The only shops you'll find me in are the grocery stores and craft stores! Unless my Mum is visiting from Scotland, we hit the stores then! She enjoys having something different to wear back home, other than Marks and Spencers! (You need to be British to get that probably!) When I saw this sentiment from the new Born to Shop Set, I immediately thought of the running set which I used last week. 

If you took part in the latest Sparkle N Sprinkle Reveal, then this is the sneak peak I left you with. I used the "Bendy Card" Design, which Jill had featured earlier with one of our Spunky stamps. I thought it would be fun to have my runner jogging through the streets and so the brick background seemed appropriate. I ran the card back and the front tab through the Sizzix Bricked embossing folder and ran Desert Sand directly over the raised pattern.

For the town I stamped the shop image on rust cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with Belgian Cream embossing powder. I then took Copic Markers and colored on top of the embossing powder to add color to the image. The windows were bleached out with a bleach pen.

The shop scene was attached to the wider tab and I cut off bits that were going to be showing - now thinking again about this, I could have just cut the scene out, leaving the notch on the right side and a fold on the left!  Oh well - next time! You need to cut a slit between the hat shop and the pastry shop, so that the front tab can connect in.

SPARKLE N SPRINKLE'S MARCH 1ST REVEAL

Hi there, and welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle March 1st Reveal. Today we have five new stamp sets being revealed. I particularly gravitated towards the Iris Frame set this month, as it boasts three versatile sentiments, and being "away" from my home, this one will come in very useful for me!:

So now you have all the necessary details on how to acquire these lovely sets, let me share my card with you. As I said, I really love the sayings in this set:

Iris Frame #532

The other draw for me was the dotted shading, and that was why I thought to make it into a shaker card, using the micro beads. 

For a different look, I stamped the Iris frame on Kraft cardstock in Versamark and heat embossed with my favorite white embossing powder - Belgian Cream. I then took an aqua brush filled with bleach and took out the color from the cardstock from the stems and flowers. I wish I had thought to take a photo, because that alone is a unique look, but I decided to do more!

I took some water color crayons and a Dove Blender Pen to color the image. I added some Dimensional Glue to the yellow stamen to give them a little height.

I cut out the window using an Exacto Knife and stamped my saying in Versamark onto Embossable Acetate, heat embossing with Concord embossing powder. These rich Tuscany powders are the perfect choice for detail embossing. I taped the acetate down to the back of the window and used dimensional tape to create a little well around the window outline.

I thought that the little butterfly brads would be perfect as embellishments so I attached a green one to a slightly lighter piece of card and applied little patches of Dimensional Glue to one of the wings and close by the butterfly (I did this so some beads would remain on these patches and not all fall to the base of the window). I put a teaspoon of micro beads into the well, removed the protective backing of the tape and closed the butterfly and beads inside.

I attached the two other butterflies to the card front and attached it to the indigo card base after scoring the edges.
