HAI Merry Merry Merry

Hi there, and welcome back to my blog. Today I have a card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, where it is always an anything goes challenge. I hope you'll find some inspiration here and join along in the challenge.

I took a shot at getting messy for this card. My hands were a mess!
I used masking tape to stick the Sweet Poppy stencil down on top of a piece of watercolor card, on top of the wipeable mat.

I then sprinkled the Color Burst powders on top of the stencil. This was then sprayed with water.

The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed with Sparkle embossing powder.

I daubed the clear embossing ink on top of the baubles, then heat embossed also with Sparkle EP.

This panel was layered to black cardstock before a white card base.

I hope I've inspired you to join in the challenge?

Till next time,

Shona

CCC Embossed Pinecones

Hi there and welcome back to my blog. My blog header for June is a photo of the 5th out of five over-wintered Black Swallowtails that finally eclosed yesterday!

My card today is for the Christmas Craft Creations Challenge where this month we are to use heat embossing!

One of my favorite stamps is this pinecone background stamp from Technique Junkies.

I stamped it using my Stamping Platform on light Kraft cardstock in Versamark and then heat embossed with Pebbled Copper.

I layered the panel on to Rose Bronze metallic cardstock and after tying a red ribbon along the bottom of the panel, this was attached to a red card base.

I chose the Merry Christmas sentiment from my favorite Hero Arts stamp set. This was stamped in the same embossing powder on to red cardstock.

This was added to the card with foam adhesive. That finished my card for today.

I hope you will join in the Challenge with us this month?

Till next time,

Shona

HAI Holly Joy

Hi there and welcome back to my blog! Today I have another Christmas card for the Holly and the Ivy Christmas Challenge which is always anything goes!

For my card today I used a new stamp that I had forgotten I had! It's from Penny Black and I love the detail graining on the leaves!

I stamped using my Stamping Platform and inked it up with Versafine Clair Morning Mist.

Stamping on red cardstock, I heat embossed with Sparkle embossing powder.

The Memory Box "Joy" was then cut out from Grey cardstock and glued to the top right.

This panel was layered on to a grey card base. A light grey ribbon was knotted around the spine of the card.

Here you can see the detail of the stamp and the sparkle from the embossing powder. Hope I've inspired you to play along with the challenge at the Holly and the Ivy?

Till next time,

Shona
