Monochrome Pinecones

Thanks for stopping over to take a look at my card today for the Holly and Ivy Challenge. Starting to make a few more Christmas cards, but got a lot to go - at least I'm making headway! Today, I have a monochrome card.

Since this stamp was quite large and would take up most of the card base, I used a piece of double-sided tape to hold the card down in the middle of the stamp positioner. The magnets would not have help the card in place. I did have to stamp a couple of times, to get a good impression.

Versafine Clair Pinecones was the ink of choice and then I heat embossed with some Clear Detail powder.

Versafine Clair Acorn was then daubed on to the pinecones.

The same Crumb Cake cardstock was used to cut out the Lawn Fawn label die and then the Sentiment from a Hero Arts stamp set was stamped in the Pinecone ink and heat embossed with Clear Detail.

The sentiment was mounted to the front with foam pads and a piece of natural twine finished off my make for today.

That's all for today! I hope you will consider joining in the challenge, where it is always Anything Goes!

Washi Christmas Tree

Hi there, welcome back! I have another Washi tape card this week for the Holly and the Ivy Challenge!

If you saw my last post, then you saw that I had to go out and buy some Washi tape which I didn't have! But I kind of liked the pink and gold hues of this roll. So, for this card, I decided to go with an uneven pattern for the tree.

A piece of my last card was used to cut out the pot. I guess we call those snippets?

I hand cut out a little section from the bottom of this piece.

I stamped the Merry, merry sentiment along the bottom of the white card base in Versafine Clair Cheerful, using the stamp positioner and after applying anti-static powder. x

A gold star was attached to the top of the tree, before the pink panel was layered to the white card base. A little gold thread was tied in a bow on the left side of the card to finish.

In person, it is quite shiny and bright! Hope I've encouraged you to join us over at the Holly and Ivy Challenge. Only a few more weeks to go - we have to get a move on!!

Till next time!

Washi Christmas Tree

Hi there and welcome back! Today I used Washi Tape on my card for the first time.

"Washi tape" is the theme over at this month's Christmas Craft Creations Challenge.

Of course, that was something that I did not have in my arsenal, so I went to Micheal's thinking they would have some Christmassy themed tape - but this was the best I could find!!

OK, let's go with gold and pink! I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do, so first thing was to make my own patterned paper with it.

I did a couple of sections of the tape until I got down far enough on the cardstock where the line was for the length of the trees.

The two trees were die cut in my Sizzix Big Shot. I decided I didn't want to use both trees on the one card, so went with a slimeline card and used the skinnier tree. I ran the same tree through the embossing machine with a piece of white cardstock and double sided tape.

I picked off the outline of the tree and then laid the washi tree in its place.

Then I removed the inner pieces so there would be sticky surface for the glitter to stick to.

Then I added microfine gold glitter to the sticky adhesive.

I used a scrap of white cardstock and a piece of double-sided tape and cut out the word joy.

The tree was taped down to the pink cardstock and the joy was placed under the tree with the sticky backing. This was then layered on to a white slimeline card base.

and a little gold thread finished my card for today!

I hope you've enjoyed my card today? ... And I hope I've given you some inspiration to join along with the Christmas Craft Creations Challenge!

Till next time,

Embossed Snowmen

Hi there and welcome to November! Wow, isn't the time just zooming in? It will be Christmas before we know it, so take the opportunity and play along with us in the Holly and Ivy Challenge. Get a start on those Christmas cards! My header today is a "fly" on some Witch Hazel. I was hoping it was going to be a native bee, but I don't think it is.

My card today is using an embossing folder and then coloring in the raised embossed areas with some watercolor pencils. Looks like a little kid's picture - don't you think?

I started with embossing the scene on a piece of plain cardstock and then coloring on the raised embossed areas with the Stampin' Up watercolor pencils.

I layered the finished colored piece on to a black layer, then on to a white card base. I then took some Nuvo Glitter Accents and added them to the snowflakes and the snow bank.

That finished my card for today! Hope you've got some inspiration today to go start your Christmas card stock! Have a look over at the blog to see what my teamies came up with!

Till next time,
