Hi there,
Today I'd like to share a card with you made with the new Flower Cart set 798 from the August Reveal.
I decided to spotlight the flowers on the cart, so stamped the image on black cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with White Detail.
I then stamped the flower part of the cart on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black.
The flowers were colored in with Copics and then were fussy cut. Dimensional Glue was added to the yellow roses and was left to dry dimensionally clear.
When the glue was dry, Orange Crush and Sunny Daze were added to the orange and yellow flowers with the Sakura Glue Pen. Black cardstock was run through Spotted Flowers embossing folder by Crafts Concepts. I applied the Green Apple, Dandelion Yellow and Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Crystal Drops to the little wells, as shown.
When the drops were dry, I tore around the image and attached it with Foam Squares. I then centered this to a piece of white card base, edged with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape, after removing the protective backing and burnished in Sun Dazzle Sparkle Sparkle N Soft to the exposed adhesive.
The flowers were then popped up on top of the white image with Foam Squares.
Depending on how you look at this card with the torn edges, it looks like the image is actually sunken in, instead of being popped up as in reality:
I'd like to join in the following challenge:

Shona this is so beautifully crafted. Loving the autumn hues and the black makes everything else pop. This will also be perfect for one entry as an anything goes creation for our challenge below.

This is beautiful! I love how it appears sunken and raised! Cool optical illusion. I also love how it has a negative image affect. Very nicely done and so creative!
ReplyDeleteWow..something new..loved the drops in the background and the flower cart really pops on black !
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I love how you popped the box of the cart so that it has the dimensional look to it. And, I love all those enamel dots you added too!
ReplyDeleteShona this is really a gorgeous autumn creation. Its perfect for our 2nd ‘ATG with CREATE WITH TLC’ challenge. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. Good luck and hope to see you play with us again.

Very pretty, Shona! Love the Nuvo background - genius! I also like your take of the spotlight technique by embossing white on black, and coloring the flowers in the cart. The dimensional glue is a fantastic idea to bring out the same textures as the Nuvos! BEAUTIFUL! Hugs,de
ReplyDeleteWOW! another corker, such detail and glitter and dimension, love all the "dots" surrounding the image. LOVE it.

Lovely card, Shona. I love how you've made the flower cart dimensional and it looks fabulous against the black background. xx
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteHoly Moly, Shona! This is dazzling! Such vibrant colors and just sensational burst of colors against the black cardstock. I love this technique! I had to stare at it a few times to take it all in :) Fabulous use of the embossing and dots :) Hope all is well with you - back to school tomorrow, hopefully I'll get my life back - LOL!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful use of this lovely image. The white embossing over the black made me think of delicate embroidery...and the treatment you've done on the flowers certainly showcased them so nicely. Loved the EF that you've added the wonderful colors of the Nuvo crystals - and you got them created so evenly too. Liked the idea that you've torn the paper, and also added the Sun Dazzle border to add even more sunshine. So very lovely. TFS & thanks for the good wishes sent my way. Hugs
ReplyDeleteYou really know how to rock the backgrounds, Shona! Such a great idea using the drops as you did. Stunning card!
