Golden Dream Catcher

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share another card from the August Reveal using the Dream Catcher Maiden Set 865

I began by making the background for my maiden. I applied Nuvo Golden Crystal Glimmer Paste through the Dreamweaver Petit Fern stencil onto Kraft cardstock. This was set aside to dry.
The maiden image was stamped on to vellum with Versamark and then heat embossed with Gold Detail.
The image was colored with Copics from the back - this never looks very good!
But when it is turned over to the front the colors are nice and muted. The image was then stuck down to a piece of sticker paper.
I fussy cut around the feathers at the bottom with my Tonic Mini Scissors and then used the Spellbinders Decagons die and had the feathers come over the bottom of the die.
The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and it was also embossed with Gold Detail. This was then cut out using Spellbinders Framed Tags One.
Indian Gold Embellishment Mousse was sponged on the background piece and around the edges of the sentiment.
To assemble the card I popped up the maiden on mounting tape. a piece of gold ribbon was attached to the sentiment and was wrapped around the back of the card front, leaving some of the feathers on top of the ribbon. The cardfront was layered to cream and then to a Kraft card base. Some Nuvo Golden Sunset Glitter Drops were added to the sentiment and beaded areas on the dream catcher.

... and that finished up my card for today. Hope you've enjoyed my share? The photo below shows the various dimensions of the different products.

Grateful to have a Friend Like You!

Hi there,
Back today to share a card using the lovely Basket of Hope Set 866 from the August Reveal.
I started by placing the image on my new stamp platform and inking it up with Memento Potters Clay. This was stamped onto a piece of cream cardstock.
I then took the lid (with my stamp) off the platform and colored the image with colored pencils.
I reattached the lid and stamped it. I removed the lid again and colored in the image with pencils. Not having the lid in the way means you can move the base around as needed to get to different areas of the image.
The stamp was cleaned with a cloth and then reinked with Versamark. The lid was put back on the base and then closed to put a film of Versamark over the Potters Clay outline.
The image was then covered with Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set. It picks up the Potter's Clay ink and gives a nice raised image.
I went ahead and gave the piece a coat of sealer, so that the colors from the pencils wouldn't smudge.
This was put aside to dry while I die cut and colored the leaves. The leaves are from the Sizzix Fall Foliage die run through my embossing machine from cream colored cardstock.

The sentiment, from the same stamp set  was stamped on cream cardstock in Versamark and heat embossed with Copper. It was cut out using with the Spellbinders Media Mixage dies and was sponged with some of the Coral Calypso Mousse before removing the die.

So on to assembling the card. I had some jute backed cardstock from which I made a frame and tied a little red and white gingham ribbon around the base, giving the table cloth addition! The jute frame was attached with Tear-ific Tape to cream and then to the kraft card base. The leaves were then added to the base of the card using the Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.
The sentiment was added with mounting tape to the opposite corner as the ribbon to finish off the card.
This finished my card for today. Hope you've enjoyed my share. Here are the supplies that I used today and that you will find on the SNS website for sale:

So back to my Elf on a Shelf card! I began by making the red card base for the easel card. I then stamped the image from the Elf Sitter Set 859 in Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I was going to color him in with Copics. I wanted to give the impression that he was sitting on the mantle on the side of the brick fireplace so I ran a piece of kraft cardstock through my embossing machine with the Darice Brick Pattern embossing folder.

Fired Brick Distress ink was then applied to the embossed cardstock. This was attached to the front panel of the easel card.

My little elf was then colored in with Copics and fussy cut with the awesome Tonic 5" mini scissors

After he was cut out, I applied Nuvo Honey Gold glitter drops to the bells on his outfit and Nuvo Grey Mist Jewel Drops to his eyes. He was set aside to dry while I worked on the shelf.

To make the shelf I used the Sizzix Woodgrain embossing folder. I put a small piece of mustard cardstock into the embossing folder and ran it through my machine. I then applied Distress Tea Dye Ink to the raised pattern.

A strip of the "wood" was adhered to the top of the brick for the elf to sit on.

A piece of cream cardstock was run through the same woodgrain embossing folder and a little of the Tea Dye ink was applied also to that. This was then layered to red cardstock. The sentiment was stamped on to green cardstock in Versamark and was heat embossed with Red Apple. This was die cut with a Spellbinders Grommet Tag. It was popped up on the base with mounting tape, a little bow was tied from red and white baker's twine and this was wrapped around the back of the red layer which was then layered to white and then to the card base as shown here.

The little elf was perched on the shelf with Tear-ific Tape and Mounting Squares.

Nuvo Crystal Drops Buttermilk for the base and Autumn Red for the brick front were added sporadically to the card to finish it off.

Here are the supplies used for the card. You can link over to the SNS website to purchase these items.

Robin Wreath Christmas Greetings

Hi there,
I'm back today with another card from the SNS July Reveal using the cute Winter Greeting Bird and Wreath Set 855.
I ran the Sizzix Holly embossing folder with green cardstock through my embossing machine. Spring Green Nuvo Embellishment Mousse was then sponged on the piece.
The wreath image was stamped in Versamark on white cardstock and was heat embossed with Christmas Green. I fussy cut with my Tonic Mini Scissors then the holly leaves were colored with a Copic Green marker and then the Spring Green Mouse was sponged around the inner and outer edges.
The berries were colored with the Red Berry Nuvo Crystal Drops. I did this in stages so the drops would dry between applications, so that they didn't become one large berry!
The robins were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. I fussy cut them with my Tonic 5" Mini Scissors. I took a strand of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and rolled it between my hands to make a little rope and then passed it through a "puddle" of Gypsy Red Velvet Glitter to make a sparkly little red rope!
I then took a silver brad and dipped it in the Versamark pad and heat set it with Red Apple. This was wrapped around the little rope bow and attached to the bottom of the wreath.
The wreath was then popped up on the embossed background and with mounting tape and the little birds were attached with tape and foam as shown. This was layered to red cardstock before being layered to a white card base. The sentiment was stamped on glossy white in Versamark and heat set with Christmas Green, was fussy cut and attached with mounting tape.
This finished up my card for today, Below are the products used on this card. Just click on the item to find them in the SNS store.
