CCC September 2023 Metallics

Hi there and welcome back to my blog. Today I have a card for the Christmas Craft Creations Challenge, where for September, we are looking for metallics! I went the metallic paper route for this one!

This was an old pack of metallic papers that I used, but quite pretty and it had a bit of red hue to it, so I paired it with burgundy red card stock. This ended up as a 6" square card. I cut a triangle piece for the left side corner.

I die cut the stag from the same metallic card as I used on the left side. I then cut him out so that he would stand alone!

I stamped the "Greetings" from the scrap of the deer die.

Then I die cut the "Season's" part of the greeting from a scrap of red metallic cardstock.

Both parts of the die cut sentiment were glued to the card base and the stag was mounted on foam pads to give it some dimension. I added a gold metallic elastic thread to the spine of the card to finish.

Hope you like my metallic take on the challenge and hope you will join in with us this month. There are always prizes! Just make sure you mention our Challenge graphic in your blog!

Till next time,

Shona

HAI Penguin Trio

Hi there and welcome back to my blog. My September header is a new inhabitant to the yard - actually there are three of them, that I've counted, so far in my pond. Apparently green frogs! Oh happy day!

I'm having to get all my blog posts scheduled ahead today and tomorrow, as I am leaving for Scotland on Thursday for 2 and a half weeks. Hopefully they will all post as planned!

Today I have a card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, where as always it is anything goes!

For my card today, I chose to use a big background stamp from Rubber Necker, and the Penguin Trio and coordinating die from Rubbernecker.

Using the Stamp Platform, I stamped the background on red cardstock, with Versafine Clair Tulip Red ink and then heat embossed with Sparkle embossing powder.

I then stamped the penguins in Versafine Clair Morning Mist and heat embossed with Clear Detail.

This was then water colored with my set of watercolor paints.

The image was then die cut with the coordinating die. The background was attached to the same red card base and then the image was popped up with dimensional foam. I added some red and white twine to the card to finish it off.

I hope your like my cheery trio and that I've inspired you to join in the fun of the Challenge!

Till next time!
