VAMP STAMP NEWS PUBLICATIONS

Hi there,

Just got a note from Nancie Waterman letting me know that I'm in the latest edition of the on-line Vamp Stamp News Magazine.

This month we were challenged to use Gelatos or gel sticks.  Have to confess I enjoyed playing around with these little guys for much longer than I should have!!

Here is the first one I came up with using the Gelatos to color in an image:

For the second one, I used the Gelatos as a wash for the background:

.. and for the third I tried a little experimenting!

So much sparkle on this third card.  I had just received the new marbled embossing powders from Sparkle N Sprinkle, so wanted to try them too! I learnt that if I colored on glossy cardstock with Gelatos, it would just rub off when touched, but I loved the vibrant colors it produced, so after coloring, I covered the entire colored card with Versamark and added a little "Sparkle", so that all the color would stay put!  A pretty Gelato Butterfly and we were done!

That's all the Gelato for now!

BRAYER TECHNIQUES

I have been working in the yard today, waiting on my 13 yards of mulch to arrive, however a couple of hours ago there was a big thunderstorm and torrential rain, which brought me inside - so I thought I'd go up and make a card.

I just got another two cards published in the Vamp Stamp News e.article this month. This month's article is all about brayer techniques.  Have to say I hadn't done brayering in a while and it is such a quick and easy way to make striking backgrounds.  On reading the article, I also learned a couple of new techniques that I hadn't done before, one of them is the bouncing brayer technique!

That is the technique I used in my card today - the rain made me think of rainbows, and this is what I came up with:

If you want to know how to achieve this look, you can find instructions in the article.

Here are the two cards that were published.  The first one uses rubber bands and the second uses the brayer three times. Full instructions for both are also in the article.

I hope you'll give Vamp Stamp News a look.

Thanks for stopping by,

LET'S DOODLE!

Well here we are, the second day of Spring - and it's snowing again!  I hope it's not going to come to much, as I've got too much to do today, most of which involves being out and about in the car.

I just got my Vamp Stamp News e-article yesterday. I had four cards published, so I thought I'd share them on my post this morning.

The challenge for March was Doodling, Hand-lettering and Stamps.  I really wasn't sure what to do here, but I played around with a couple of ideas and came up with the following cards:

You are supposed to use at least one stamped image in each of your cards.  So here I chose to start by stamping the three different butterflies from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Fancy Butterflies Set 437.  Then I just started playing!

For the next one I thought I'd try doodling on the inside of the image.  Here is my attempt at that:

Next, I tried doodling with different colored pens.  I used outline stickers to doodle with!

... and for the last one .... I "cheated" and used  pre-made stamps from the Sparkle N Sprinkle set 463 - Zendoodle Flowers.

I stamped on top of Cloud Nine velvet glitter for the main image in this one and colored with Copics.

If you want more full instructions of any of the cards, or take look at the informative e.article you can see it here

Thanks for stopping by today,

'Till next time!
