HAI Skiing Snowman!

Hi there and thanks for stopping by my blog! The weather is looking more spring-like around here, so I had took the opportunity to get in to my hives to check my bees yesterday! Thought you'd like to see a photo of one of my queens? So Queen Bee is my March header!

Today I have a card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, which is always anything goes. I had a piece of designer paper lying on my desk which had a chunk taken out of the corner of it, so decided to use it up on my card today.

Then I stamped the snowman on white cardstock from a stamp set from an unknown source!

He was die cut with the Sizzix die after being colored with Copics.

He was placed in the bottom corner of the card front and a ribbon was added to finish off the card for today.

My Mum and Dad just arrived yesterday (along with one of my brothers and his wife), so I forgot to post this yesterday! We are going to North Carolina this week for another brother's son's wedding and will be back next week. Mum and Dad will stay here for three months.

Hope I've inspired you to play along in our anything goes challenge for the Holly and Ivy?

Till next time,

Shona

CCC March 2023 One Layer Card

Hi there and welcome back to my blog! Today I have a card for the Christmas Craft Creations Challenge. Here is what I came up with!

Although it sounds easy, this was a difficult challenge - at least for me! One layer card!

I was going through my Christmas stash and I came upon this big stamp, which I had not used in a long time.

I decided to at least heat emboss it to give it some kind of dimension, but still stay as a single layer. So I put it in my stamping platform and inked it up with Versafine Clair Cheerful and stamped on to a beige card base.

Using the stamp platform allowed me to get a good impression of the big stamp.

I then heat embossed with Gold Detail powder.

I'll probably go back and do more to this before using it as a Christmas card this year, but for now it stays like this for the challenge!

So that's all for me today. Hope you will play along in the challenge! Till next time!

HAI Holiday Joy!

Hi there and welcome to March! How quickly the months are going by! Today I have a card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, where, as always, it is an anything goes challenge. I hope you'll be inspired to play along!

First, I dry embossed the piece of red cardstock with the Sizzix Alterations folder.

I then sanded the embossed piece, which made the lettering stand out more.

I found a little bauble snippet lying on my table, which had been die cut from the same color of cardstock and embossed with gold detail powder.

I found a scrap of red card, which was slighlty lighter, resembling the sanded color, so heat embossed the Holiday Joy sentiment from an old Sparkle n' Sprinkle in Gold Detail powder.

I penciled the outline of the bauble around the sentiment and cut it out slightly smaller and the bauble was glued on top, after threading gold thread through the bauble hole.

The thread was then attached to the back of the panel and the bauble was added with foam pads.

The embossed panel was layered to a red card base to finish off my card for today.

Hope I've inspired you to play along in the challenge?

Hope you pop by again soon!
