Let it Snow

Hi everyone and welcome back! Today I have another Christmas card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge. This is always an anything goes theme, so a good way to build up your Christmas card stash! I hope you will consider joining along with the challenge this month. Only two more months till the big day!!

I ran the Snowflakes embossing folder through my embossing machine with blue cardstock. I then direct inked the embossed areas with Brilliance Moonlight White pigment ink.

This was covered with Sparkle embossing powder and once heat embossed the corners were punched with the snowflake punch.

Placing a piece of double stick tape to a scrap of white cardstock, I die cut the Memory Box Lindeman Snowflake die.

The protective backing was removed carefully:

... then Bridal glitter was applied to the sticky side! A foam mounting pad was added behind the center of the snowflake, covered also in the Bridal glitter, which would then be attached to the front of the card.

I then cut a window from the snowflake background, with the Stampin' Up window punch, I made it a little deeper to accommodate the sentiment. This was then attached to the white base card and then using the Stamp Platform, the Hero Arts sentiment was placed in the "window".

The snowflake was then added to the front of the card.

A piece of matching blue organdy ribbon was tied around the card. That finished the card for today. Below is a list of the products that I used in my card today.

Oh Christmas Tree!

Hi there, I'm back today with a card for the challenge over at Christmas Craft Creations

This month our theme is Black and White with one other color.

My other color is green. My camera was getting repaired last week, so again, there are no step by step photos. I was looking through my Christmas die stash and I came upon the Your Next Die - Christmas Tree die, which I don't think I have ever used. So I decided to make my card with snowy hills, dotted with Christmas trees.

I took scraps of white cardstock and applied 2 1/2 inch double stick tape, before running it through the machine with the die. The Christmas trees had the protective backing removed and then Misty Isles glitter was applied to the sticky adhesive. The rest of the protective backing was then removed and Bridal glitter was applied for the snowy hill. I did this three times. One was taped down to the black (sky) panel, that I found on my desk. Then I cut up the other two and staggered the hills and trees so that the layers were different from each other.

The sentiment from Hero Arts CL343 was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White Detail embossing powder. It was die cut with a Lawn Fawn labels die. I stuck this on to the sticky surface of the last hill before applying the Bridal glitter.

The scene was layered on to a matching piece of green cardstock and was then layered to a white card base. A green ribbon completed the card for today.

Holiday Joy

Hi there - I'm so glad you stopped by! Can you believe it is October already? My header today is one of my last tagged Monarchs. This year I have tagged 35 of these beauties and I hope that one of them may make it to Mexico and be found. Today I am sharing my first Christmas card for October for the Holly and Ivy Anything Goes Challenge.

My two cameras were in getting worked on again! So I only had my camera phone and I so there won't be any steps here, though I think it is self-explanatory. Decided to go with an untraditional Christmas palette. Maybe this would work for a couple expecting a baby - the flamingo is posing as a stork??

I stamped the flamingo (old Sparkle N Sprinkle set) - Christmas Flamingo) in Versafine Clair Nocturne using the stamping platform. I colored with Copics, then returned it to the platform and stamped again with the same ink and heat embossed with Clear Detail. This was die cut with the Sizzix Dotted Ovals set. A pink and blue oval were also cut and were taped down to a white panel.

Holiday Joy was also from the same set and was also stamped with Nocturne and heat embossed with Clear Detail. This was die cut with the Tonic Layering Basics Traditional Hearts die.

The blue ribbon bow was tucked under the focal panel and then the flamingo was attached with mounting tape for dimension and more dimension was used for the sentiment. This was layered to a pink layer and then on to the white card base.

Brushable glue and white flocking were added to the hat trim and pompom and then Nuvo Glitter Accents - Fresh Snowfall were added to the light bulbs.

Hope you liked my share today! Please take a look over at the Holly and Ivy Challenge, to see what my Teamies have prepared for you and maybe you'll be inspired to play along! It's always an anything goes theme.
