Heart Embossed Butterflies

Hi there, I'm back to share with you a monochromatic card that I made for the Dies R Us Design Team, using the Memory Box Large Circle Burst die and the Poppystamps Embossed Heart Butterfly. I want to give a shout out to Lori Kobular for this gorgeous die - I won it over on the recent Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop! Thanks so much Lori - I love it!!

I had a piece of purple card stock laying on my desk that I had die cut with the Circle Burst last week. I was thinking monochromatic for my card today and I was thinking pink, so instead of using it as a die cut, I used the piece as a stencil. Using a finger dauber, I applied Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick through the stencil.

I then die cut the Embossed Heart Butterfly and after cutting, I ran it through the machine again with an embossing pad to emboss the hearts. Leaving the die in place, I daubed the Worn Lipstick to the little raised hearts. I repeated this three times.

Fuchsia metal antennae were attached to the back of the butterflies with tape. The sentiment from Sparkle N Sprinkle set Pansies was stamped with Versafine Claire Morning Mist. I used my stamp positioner for this, to be able to stamp a couple of times to get a clear impression.

The sentiment was then heat embossed with  Sparkle embossing powder.

The three butterflies were attached with foam tape for dimension.

Below are the products that I used on my card today:

SNS Pansies Set 826
Sparkle (EP107)
Fuschia metal thread
Mounting Foam

Fairy Dreams

Hi there,

I'm back with you today to share a sparkly little card that I made for the Dies R Us Design Team, featuring one of the fairies from the Tutti Mini Fairies die set along with the Memory Box Large Circle Burst.

I began by cutting the die with the MB Large Circle Burst. The sentiment from an old Sparkle N Sprinkle set Dream Catcher Maiden was then stamped in Versafine Clair Monarch using the stamp positioner. This was then heat embossed with Sparkle embossing powder.

I then applied Versamark to the entire white front and heat set with Sparkle embossing powder, this gave the card front a sparkly, fairy dust look! (It's hard to catch with the phone - I'm still not back on my desk computer and so can't use my digital camera).

I found an old home made background, which I had made using Perfect Pearls, Pearlescent Pearl and Violet Color Burst and thought that made a magical kind of background, so foam mounted the white circle panel on top. This was then taped down to a white card base.

I die cut the little fairy from black cardstock, applied Versamark and heat set with Sparkle embossing powder, to add some shimmer to her too.

She was then foam mounted to the front of the card.

Hope you've enjoyed seeing my share today. Below are the products I used in my card today:

Dream Catcher Maiden Set 865
Piece of Homemade Cardstock
Versamark
Sparkle EP107

The kitchen renovations are coming along. Kitchen tile got laid yesterday and electric got inspected today. The sheetrock should be getting put back up and week after next the cabinets should be going in!

Hopefully more progress next time I post!

Till then, happy stamping!

Santa Suit Christmas

Hi there,

Happy February! My February header is one of the first signs that Spring might be on its way - the little Snowdrop! Check out the little pollinator too!

Today's card is for the Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Creative Challenge Design Team. This month's challenge is to use words! I chose to use the Poppy Merry Christmas Background die.

I'm afraid I don't have my usual step by step photos for this card. We just started a big renovation project in our kitchen, where my desk computer (where all my real pictures are stored) used to reside and hubby hasn't had the time to get it up and running yet! So I have had to take these pictures with my phone.

I die cut a piece of red cardstock with the Poppy die and then cut the bottom quarter off. Super adhesive tape was stuck to the back of the two pieces. A piece of black cardstock was cut for the background and a strip of double sided adhesive was laid horizontally for the belt.

The two pieces of red cardstock were then placed on top and Night Sky Flocking was burnished into the exposed tape.

I poked four holes at the inside of the corners of the buckle. I tied the buckle down with invisible thread coming through the holes and taped it down at the back. This panel was then added to a white card base.

That finished my project for today. Hope you like my project? Please stop by and leave me a comment. Here is a list of the products used today.

Poppy Merry Christmas Background die
Super Adhesive Tape
Night Sky Flocking
Buckle Hardware
Invisible Thread

I'm sitting in the dining room, writing my blog on my chrome book, while the guys are demolishing the kitchen and family room behind the wall!

Here is yesterday's progress. Cabinets, island and appliances gone!

Today, it is sheetrock and tile removal.

I'll be back soon.

It's a Girl Thing

Hello Blogging Friends!!

Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born with only one X chromosome, instead of two, leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities. This condition occurs one in 2,500 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term. That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!

Thirty-two caring Sponsors and five DT Members have partnered with us to bring Turner Syndrome Awareness to the Public. For details on how you might win any of these fabulous prizes, please see Lori's TS home page. Thanks for learning About Turner Syndrome

6 talented and caring designers are offering prizes on their personal blogs as well:

My TS related project is inspired by the TSA official color board:

Because it represents femininity, strength and uniqueness, the butterfly was designated by TSSUS to become the Turner Syndrome symbol. It reminds us that just like a butterfly, TS girls are considered fragile and beautiful miracles. Being a keen advocate for butterflies in general, I chose to highlight them in my card this year.

"Butterflies fly on their own which is our hope for our girls."

I began with die cutting the Butterfly Swell

I have a box full of backgrounds that I have made over the years, which I went rummaging through to find something that would work with the mood board. I found this one which had been made with Color Burst powders and water on watercolor cardstock, I had used Lemon Yellow, Violet and Pthalo Green. A piece of this was inserted behind the die cut. I then used the Sizzix Thinlits Drop-Ins 661837 (believe you can) die cut to cut out the sentiment.

Double sided tape was then added behind the sentiment and I cut the sentiment again out of a piece of the background paper and put it in the negative space. A piece of scrap white cardstock was also cut and the little inserts from the "e"s, "a"s, etc. were added in.

Additional butterflies were die cut using the butterfly swell and green vellum and then one was cut from the background paper again. Green vellum butterflies were also cut using the recollections Butterfly Cutting Template and a little glue was added to all of them and they were arranged around the front of the card.

Once the glue was dry I was able to curl up the wings to give plenty of dimension to the card.

Below are the products that I used for my card today:

Sizzix Thinlits Drop-Ins 661837
Memory Box Butterfly Swell
Recollections Butterfly Cutting Template
Color Burst: Lemon Yellow, Violet, Pthalo Green
Green Vellum

I hope that you will take the time to visit the "It's A Girl Thing" Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop 2020  page to become eligible for prizes and to learn more about Turner Syndrome.

The more comments you leave on all the different blogs, the more chances you have of winning - there are lots of fun prizes up for grabs.
