Farm Sunset

Hi there,

Glad you stopped by today! I'd like to share a quick card that I made using some stamps from four different Sparkle N Sprinkle Sets and three of the Nuvo Embellishment Mousses.

This card is a breeze to make if you have the new Tonic Stamp Platform! First wipe the cardstock thoroughly with the Anti-static bag, this is important when using embossing powders. You don't want any stray flakes of the powder on your project. Then simply take your stamps and position them face down on to your cardstock in the platform. Here I used the cow image from the October Reveal set Farm Fresh - Cows Set #2 (878), the tree image is from the Right Beside You Set 812 and the birds are from Wetlands #2 Set 791.

I inked up the stamps with the Nuvo Clear Mark pad, I did it in the platform and this gets them all stamped evenly with the embossing ink in one go.

The card was removed from the platform and applied with Black Detail and heat embossed.

Now on to the background. This could have been done first and then stamped on top, after making sure the mousse was completely dry (it does dry quickly) and then applying the anti static bag over the background. I felt it was easier to do it this way. The mousse can be wiped off the images easily with a tissue. I covered the entire piece with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Lemon Sorbet.  As you can see from the photo below I like to use the big jumbo daubers to do my mousse backgrounds, but the dual tipped blender brushes can also be used.

I then applied Orange Blush and Indian Gold to achieve my sunset look.

For my sentiment (from Farm Fresh - Tractor Set 877),  I just decided to stamp directly on the scene instead of using a die cut. So after the mousse was completely dry, I applied my Static Free bag again and then put the scene back in the platform. The sentiment was inked with the Clear Mark ink again and then heat embossed in black.

So to finish off my card I layered the scene on to black and tied a little knot in a piece of raffia (thought it looked like straw) and wrapped it around the back. I then layered the cardfront to a piece of leftover textured wallpaper, that was layered on to a Kraft card base.

Here is a list of the products used in my card:

Nature's Elegance

Hi there,

Back again to share with you one of my cards from the awesome October Reveal. Today I am using the beautiful set Lovely as a Leaf Set 869. So appropriate for this time of the year and there are lots of Nuvo products used on this card too.
I began making the background and the leaf embellishments by embossing Tonic Mirror Cardstock Rose Platinum and Harvest Gold with the Darice Foliage embossing folder. I die cut the center out of each background using Sizzix Framelits 661840 Die Set. I fussy cut four of the "gold " center leaves out using my 5" Tonic Mini Scissors. The leaves were used as the embellishments to the Rose Platinum background and then I had the opposite set for another card.
The leaf stamp was stamped with Acorn Brown on white cardstock using the Tonic Stamp Platform.
The lid was removed, and the image was colored with Aquaflow markers, keeping the image in place on the platform.
An acrylic block was used as a paint palette for the markers. The Nuvo Aqua Brush Pen was used as the water brush.
Once the image was dry I applied the Anti Static Bag before applying Nuvo Clear Mark to the stamp again and then returning the lid to the platform the image was stamped over the top of the image and heat embossed with Clear Detail. This gave a nice raised shiny appearance to the leaf.
The same process was done with the sentiment. First Acorn Brown and then Nuvo Clear Mark was heat embossed with Clear Detail.
The leaf image was sponged with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Lemon Sorbet.
Autumn Frost Velvet Glitter was used to make my ribbon twine. I took a piece of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and rolled it up and dipped it in the glitter.
This was then used for the little bow for my leaves along with a copper brad.
Three of the leaves were tied into a "bouquet" with a copper brad and then the sentiment was added with mounting tape and the last leaf was added on top with tear-ific tape. The card front was layered to a black card base and some Nuvo Honey Gold Glitter Drops were added to complete the card.
Here is a list of the products used for my card today. These can all be found on the SNS website for sale just by clicking on them:

Now on to my card! I placed a piece of white cardstock in my new Tim Holtz Platform and stamped Gus from the Fish Whisperer Set 871 in the Nuvo Hybrid Ink Acorn Brown. These inks are great, because they work with both alcohol and watercolor mediums without smearing.

I removed the lid (with the stamp) and set it aside while I colored in the image with Copics, while the image was kept in the same position on the platform.

Once the image was colored, I inked up Gus again, this time with the Nuvo Clear Mark and reattached the lid to the platform and stamped over the colored Gus image. This was then heat embossed with Clear Detail.

Here you can see the nice shiny, raised outline it gives to the stamp.

The Memento Desert Sand ink pad was then rubbed directly to a piece of cardstock before being cut out with the Spellbinders Cattails die.

Nuvo Acorn Brown ink was then rubbed over the die before being removed which gave the cattails their darker color.

A scrap of Super Adhesive Sheet was layered to a piece of gray cardstock and the clouds were die cut with with Spellbinders Inspire Rainy Day. I removed the protective backing and then Elephant Gray Flocking was burnished in to the sticky adhesive. This gave a fluffy look to the clouds.

Memento inks Summer Sky and London Fog were sponged around Gus for the rainy day background and then Nuvo Grey Mist Jewel Drops were added as the rain drops. Eyes, wellies and fish were then given a shine from Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.

The cattails were applied with the new Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, and Buff Flocking was applied to give the cattails a fuzzy appearance.

The sentiment was stamped on Grey cardstock with Nuvo Clear Mark and then heat embossed with Sienna. This is a fine detail powder - perfect for sentiments. It was cut out using the Sizzix Framelits 661840 Die. The card front was centered to a piece of white cardstock edged with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape, Buff Flocking was burnished in around the exposed sticky edge. This was then layered on to a black card base. The sentiment was attached to the cardfront with mounting tape to finish off the card.

Here is a list of the Sparkle N Sprinkle products used on my card today:

Next on the hop is the super-talented Donna, who has put a different spin on our little Gus set! Make sure you comment on each of the Designers' blogs in order to be eligible to win all of these new Reveal sets. Good luck!
