HAI Silver Bells

Hi there and welcome back to my blog! I'm a little late in posting - had my nephew visiting for the Memorial Day weekend.

This is my card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, which is always anything goes.

I had never used this Jingle Bells Trio stamp by Penny Black. I inked it up with Versamark and heat embossed with Silver Detail.

This was layered to a piece of silver mirror cardstock and then a grey card base.  I stamped a Hero Arts "Joy" sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne and then heat embossed with Silver Lightning.

A little silver thread was tied around the spine to finish up my card for today. I hope that you're inspired to play along in the challenge?

That's all for today!

Till next time,

HAI Christmas Cheer

Hi there and welcome back! Today I have another card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, which is always anything goes!

I decided to go with the Sweet Poppy set of the bauble stencil and die! Love this combo! So versatile!

First I inked the bauble stencil with Distress inks Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet. These inks blend so nicely!

Next I stamped the little image and sentiment from the Stampin' Up Warm and Toasty set in VersaFine Claire Monarch ink.

The bauble was then die cut using the coordinating die.

I layered this to a piece of blue card which was then layered to a white card base.

A pink and blue ribbon were then added to finish off the card.

That's it for today. I hope you will join in the challenge?

Till next time,

Shona

Gold and Silver Joy

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Today I have a card for the Christmas Craft Creation Team.

Our theme this month is no stamping.

I had never used this ornament die before, so thought I'd give it a try.

I die cut the background die twice out of silver and once out of gold.

I layered a piece of double sided adhesive to one of the silver ornaments and ran the inside die through my machine.

I peeled off the protective backing from the outline part of the die.

Silver glitter was burnished in to the sticky surface.

I picked out the rest of the protective backing, using an exacto knife and then burnished in Golden Wheat microfine glitter.

I cut out the ornament top, two from silver and one from gold. The two silver ones were placed on top of the silver and gold plain ornaments that were stuck to a white card base. The decorated die cut was attached with foam tape for dimension.

I die cut "joy" out of a scrap of gold card, with double sided adhesive attached to the back and this was stuck to the base of the card. A strip of washi tape was stuck to the spine to complete my card for today.

Hope I've inspired you to play along in the Christmas Craft Creations challenge.

Till next time,

Shona

Golden Peace Dove

Hi there and welcome back to my blog. My May header is the beautiful Virginia Bluebells. Today I have a card for the Holly and Ivy Challenge.

First of all I die cut the peace dove and "peace" from the middle of a piece of gold cardstock, which would then be used for a layer of the card.

Then I added a piece of double-sided adhesive to a piece of blue cardstock, to which I stuck down the gold die cuts.

Then after the die cuts were stuck down, I burnished in Microfine Glitter  Cobalt Glaze.

This was then layered over the gold layer and a gold thread was tied around the spine of the card to finish.

Hopefully I have given you a little inspiration to join in with us over at the Holly and Ivy Challenge?

Till next time,
