Bell Joy

Hi there and welcome back to the Holly and Ivy Challenge.

Things have been rather hectic here and so this was another snippet job!

Kept this monocromatic with Kraft and gold.

Everything was snippets. The gold embossed bell, the two die cut music circles and then an embossed background with some ink daubed over the embossed areas.

A little ribbon around the left side to finish everything off!

Snippet Christmas

Hi there and Happy New Year! My card today is for the Christmas Craft Creations Challenge, where this month, we are to use snippets in our projects.

I found this quite difficult, I have to confess! I figured I would make a card, using bits and pieces from my desk. Where to start?

I picked up the triangular snippet of designer paper and found a little already embossed Christmas tree to put in front of it to make my tree. The already stamped sentiment would be my "pot" for the tree! Oh, .... and let's do something with that piece of Kraft cardstock!

Now I had my background, it was time to put it all together.

This panel was added to a Kraft card base and I tied a piece of green twine around the fold of the card to finish it off. This is the first time I ever did a card with bits and pieces and I think it came out OK.

Let me know what you think? I hope this will inspire you to join in with the snippet challenge over at the Christmas Craft Creations Challenge blog.

Till next time,

Shona

Snowflake Christmas

Hi there and Happy New Year! My first card of 2023 is for the Holly and Ivy Challenge, where it is always an Anything Goes theme. I just got back from Scotland yesterday, so had an easy card ready for the challenge this week.

Before I left for Scotland I had a few last minute cards to make, so this was just that!

I used an old snowflake embossing folder for the background with light blue card stock. I made a few snowflakes using the Recollections snowflake die set. I used up some old scraps of light blue cardstock and covered it with a strip of double adhesive tape. This was then put through the embossing machine and several of the snowflakes were die cut.

The protective layer of the tape was removed and then Princess Elsa Frost glitter (from Sparkle N Sprinkle) was burnished into each of the snowflakes.

A blue brad was put through the center of the snowflake and a little strip of glossy cardstock. The Merry Christmas is a silver sticker and was added to the "label". This was added to the blue embossed background and then layered on to a white card base.

That finished my card for today. I hope your New Year is off to a good start? I hope to get better control of everything this year! Let's see how that goes?

Till next time,

Shona
