Christmas Tree Joy

Hi there and welcome back. Today I have a card for the Holly and the Ivy Challenge, where it is always anything goes. An easy way for you to keep adding to your Christmas card stash twice a month throughout the year. I haven't changed my header this month as blogger has changed something with the header option in layout! So you are stuck with a bee for a bit longer!! This happened before, so I am hoping that it will revert back to being able to change the header image. Anyway, on to my card!

Another of the die cuts that I recently purchased from Lifescraft. It's a Christmas tree edger, but I decided to use it a little differently. I ran the die cut through my machine with white cardstock.

Then I drew around the outline of the tree and flipped the die to pencil in both sides on a darker piece of green than the card base that I was going to use.

This was then fussy cut along the inside of the pencil marks and was taped down to the inside of the tree. The tree was then taped down to the front of the card base. The sentiment and little package were from the following stamp set.

The sentiment and gift were stamped with Versafine Clair Shady Lane Ink and were then heat embossed with Clear Detail powder to give them a little sparkle.

I wrapped a green organdy ribbon around the left side of the card to finish it off!

MUM'S IN THE PINK!

Time to get my Mum's Mother's Day card in the mail, as it is next Sunday in the UK. I started by sprinkling some Scarlet and Brilliant Red Brusho crystals on a wet glossy white piece of cardstock. .... then pink seemed to evolve! 

I stamped the lilies three times in StazOn black and cut them out using my Brother Scan N Cut (sure beats all that fussy cutting!) I then used three different shades of pink crayons and an aqua pen and colored the lilies. After they were dry, I applied Versamark all over them and heat embossed with Clear Detail. This gave them a lovely shiny look. I used a Sakura Glue Pen to apply Cyclamen Glitter to the petals and then some Dimensional Glue was used to add pink glass beads to the flower centers.

The Brusho background was cut with Spellbinders Crisscross die. I die cut the pink cardstock  with Spellbinders Branching Out. The lattice was attached to the back of the frame along with a piece of wide organdy ribbon before being layered to a piece of light pink cardstock edged with 3/4" Tear-ific Tape. Bubble Gum Glitter was applied to the sticky edges.

The two small heart brads on the tag were heat embossed with Raspberry Tart. The two glass heart buttons were heat embossed with Princess Rose. The dark pink button was already that color. The sentiment, from My Rose Garden Set was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with Raspberry Tart. It was cut and embossed with Spellbinders Grommet Tags, then sponged with Memento Rose Bud and attached to the background with the brads. The background was then attached to a white card base.

The white organdy ribbon was sponged with Memento Angel Pink before being made into a bow and threaded through the buttons. It is all attached to the card front with Dimensional Foam.

The lilies were also attached with Dimensional Dots.

EVERYTHING HAS A SEASON

Wow, what a quick month May has been! Too many volunteer obligations! Now, I've got less than a week to get the backyard photo ready for the prom photo shoot!

As I mentioned in my May Reveal post, my favorite stamp set this month was the Garden Silhouette. Just love it. Silhouette stamps and gardens - two of my very favorite things! Here is the sneak peak that I left you with.

I used two of the images from the Silhouette Garden set to make this simple card. Might make a few more of this to have on hand for upcoming birthdays. 

I made the background, with a gorgeous summer's night, just around sunset, in mind. Using an felt applicator and a few Adirondack Alcohol inks, randomly put drops of Stream, Sunshine Yellow, Purple Twilight and Meadow and dab onto white glossy cardstock. Add a little Blending solution to mute it down if needed.

The two images were stamped side by side in Black StazOn. I then took a piece of the background and added more Blending Solution, to mute the colors. When it was dry, I heat embossed the sentiment using Versamark and Black Detail. It was cut with scissors and added with dimensionals.

A piece of scalloped white lace trim was folded around the back of the card front to emulate a window valance. Layered on to black, white and then to the black card base.

A quick and simple card - don't you just love those?
