BOUNTIFUL SUNFLOWER

Hi everyone,

Here today to share a recent birthday card I made using the new Sparkle N Sprinkle "Donna's Stylin' Sayings Set".

First I took the lines image and stamped it all the way down the right side in Versamark on glossy white cardstock. Then I did the little dots image on the left side. The entire piece was then heat embossed with White Detail.

Next I took blue, purple and pink Nuance powders and sprinkled them on the card.

They were then spritzed with water to make this fun background.

I cut the Poppytamps Bountiful Sunflower die from the piece and then cut it again from a piece of purple cardstock. 2 1/2" Tear-ific Tape was attached behind the aperture and then I placed the purple impression in the space. Dogwood Rose Velvet Glitter was then burnished in to the open sticky areas.

I stuck a piece of 3/4" Tear-ific Tape to the back of a scrap of the purple cardstock and ran the Ellentina Happy Birthday die through my embossing machine.

When it was cut, I removed the tape backing and stuck it on to the background piece. A little pink bow was made and was attached to the back of the card front. I layered it to pink before the white glossy card base to finish.

This came together fairly quickly, so I think I'll make a few more to have on hand.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave me a comment to let me know you did!

CELEBRATE DANCE - YUPO STYLE!

Hi there,

Hope you're having a wonderful week? We certainly are - temperatures are soaring - maybe even to 80 degrees today! I've been out in the yard starting some Spring clean-up. Feels good out there! Today I'd like to share a card I made for a dear friend using one of our three new SNS sets this month - Donna's Stylish Sayings Set.  This friend is an avid dancer, and so this little set along with the dancing couple die worked out perfectly.

Yupo Dance Celebration

I had been playing around with some Yupo paper and some old Adirondack Alcohol Inks. It is cool to watch the drops of colors collide in to one another and create other colors. I chose some yellows and red hues and put in a little Pearl Mixative at the end for my background.

Yupo Dance Celebration

I kept on adding drops of the inks until the white was gone!

As they are alcohol inks they dry fairly quickly, but I made quite a few that day, waiting on this one to dry!! When it was dry, I ran my anti-static bag over the surface, then inked up the line stamp with Versamark  and heat embossed with Gold Detail. "Celebrate" was then stamped in black StazOn several times and then I went back over each print with Versamark and heat embossed again in the Gold Detail. With the black behind it gave the illusion of a shadow giving the words a little more dimension.

I die cut the dancers (Die-Versions Sweet Petites - Dancers DVP-102) out of a piece of chipboard. This was then applied with Versamark and  heat embossed with Gold Detail. Another coating of Versamark and then Fleur de Lis was heat embossed on top. I find that if you cover the die cuts, or chipboard first with a base coat of embossing powder, there is no need to heat from the bottom, the new covering of embossing powder melts nicely in to the base layer.

Look at the lovely swirly effect from the Fleur de Lis embossing powder!

To finish off the card, I made a bow from sheer black ribbon, using my Craft-Dee BowZ tool and wrapped it to the back of the card base. This was then layered to a black, then red, before the final black card base. The dancers were then attached with dimensionals.  To me, it looks like they are dancing on a roof top in the city!

I'd like to play along in the following Challenges:

Hope you've enjoyed my share today?

Till next time,

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

No, I'm not away ahead of my stamping schedule!! It's already Mother's Day this Sunday in the UK, as it is based on when the 4th Sunday of Lent falls, traditionally called Mothering Sunday!

I had fun with this card, using a Dylusions Floral Flourish ( DYZ45830) set that had never been used, and some Sparkle N Sprinkle Glitters to come up with a relatively easy (if you like fussy cutting!) card.

To start, lay out all the pieces of flowers and butterflies on to an acrylic block and stamp on to glossy white cardstock in Versamark and then heat with White Detail

Then using Memento Inks with daubers, color in the flowers to your liking and then wipe of excess ink from the top of the embossing with a tissue. I used Cantaloupe, Pear Tart, Lulu Lavender, Lilac Posies, Bamboo Leaves, Rhubarb Stalk, Dandelion and Love Letter.

Once colored, fussy cut all the images. then using a Sakura Glue Pen add semi-transparent glitters to the pieces. I used Bubble Gum for the pink, Lavender Iris for the purple shades, Green Iris for the leaves and stems and Sparkling Snow on anything else and the butterflies.

Cut out Happy Birthday (we will the only use the Happy bit) from black cardstock using the Ellentina Cutting Die. Cut also the Mother's Day (Die-Versions) from black cardstock, I cut this from the inside of the black die cut frame of Labels Twenty-Five. Then add a piece of 2 1/2" Tear-ific Tape to white cardstock and run it through the embossing machine with the die cut one step smaller. Remove the protective backing and adhere the "die cut sentiment".  Apply Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter to the remaining sticky surface. I taped the black "frame" down on to a 5" x 7" glossy card base and used Dimensional Foam for the glittered sentiment.

Then it is just a case of positioning and layering the flowers, stems, leaves and butterflies as you like with tape or Dimensional Foam. You can also curl the leaves, petals or wings as you wish. Cut off any pieces that are hanging over the edge of the card.

Makes for an easy, but dimensional card:
