I hope your New Year is off to a good start? I always look forward to January and February as they are usually quieter months for me as there isn't much to do outside in the garden. I like to use these two months to catch up and hopefully get ahead with stamping duties and a general clean-up and re-organization of my stamping room.
We are putting in a totally new kitchen and have just signed off the paperwork with the contractor. Exciting - but chaos will soon be here!
In the meantime, here is my January card for Christmas at Sweet Stampin', where this month we have the option of adding "sparkle"!
I received another stamp and die cut set with a magazine last month. The robin die was just so cute, so I made up this little card, using several elements from the set and added a fair amount of sparkle!
The robin was cut from tan and red cardstock.
Once the trees were dry, I sponged in some Memento Summer Sky for the sky.
The tree trunk was stamped in Rich Cocoa and then colored in using a couple of brown markers. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Northern Pine. I then started to add my sparkle. Dimensional glue was added to the tops of the snow banks and covered with Twinkling Snow Flocking.
The Quickie Glue pen and some Sparkling Snow Glitter were added to give the trees some snowy sparkle.
Some more Dimensional Glue and Diamond Dust glitter was added to the tree trunk for some chunky ice effect. Winter Cranberry Glitter Accents for the red berries of the holly in the sentiment and then Fresh Snowfall Glitter accents were added to the bottom of the card front for twinkly snow.
The little robin was popped on top of the tree trunk and the card front was layered to a red card base, which finished off my card for today.
Here are a list of the products used in my card today:
