NEON GARDEN SCRAPBOOK PAGE

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share a Scrapbook page that I created using the new Neon Glitters, some Want 2 Scrap Chipboard Embellishments and some Mon Ami Gabby Pull Ribbon and bling!

Neon Garden Joy

It started out with three butterfly pictures that I had taken in the backyard in summer of 2014 ....  Sparkle N Sprinkle now carries Want 2 Scrap products and for all you scrappers out there - it is a match made in heaven! Love all the chipboard pieces - words, frames and objects from gears to flowers. Something for everyone - and although I used them here with the new Sparkle N Sprinkle Neon Glitters, they work fabulously with embossing powders - especially the Super Thick ones. So I put the three butterfly photos on my scrapbook page and this is how the page began:

Instead of cutting the photos down to be inside the small frames I decided to "spotlight" the butterflies - using the smaller frames. This is the first frame after one application of the Yellow "Electrified". Not quite sure why the Chipboard is coming up purple, but nevertheless it needed a second coat of Brushable Glue and a second application of the glitter for better coverage.  As Demo Donna explained in her video it is best to give the Chipboard a coat of white embossing powder first before the Glitter, it also saves time, in that you are not waiting on anything drying.

Here comes the second coat:

After I had taken the frames from the package of three frames, I noted that there were actually three more "larger" frames, and rather than throw them away I tried to salvage them too.  As you will see from the photo below I was unable to get a clean cut between the frames, so there is a little bit missing from the frame below. But, I can cover that up with something, right? ..... It also allowed me to use a bigger photo and cut it down to a framed size. So this frame below got the treatment from the Brushable Glue and the Pink "Exulted" Glitter.

It is so opaque that it did not need a second coat of the glitter.  Then I covered the little gap in the frame with the Bird on a Branch embellishment - after he was all decked out in all four Neons! Don't forget his beady little eye - a Want 2 Scrap Self Adhesive pearl!

The Orange "Energized" Frame was also just one coat.

The Tulip embellishment was colored the same way, by applying the Brushable Glue to the Chipboard Embellishment. Here, the stem and leaves are about to receive "Exhilarated" Green.

The rest of the words and letter embellishments were all given the Neon Glitter treatment.

Then it was just a case of assembling the page. First I cut the green page down to 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" and edged the orange page with 1/2" Tear-ific Tape. I removed the protective backing of the tape and centered the green page leaving the exposed sticky edge. Mon Ami Gabby Green Jewel Mesh was applied to the edge all the way around the page. Below you can see the middle of the bottom edge before I added some of the "Energized" Orange to the remaining sticky edge - see how vibrant the jewels became with the Neon Orange behind them.

The final step was to assemble the page. Using Dimensional FoamDimensional Glue or the Tear-ific Tape, as shown below. Once it is placed - it is not going anywhere!:

Holes were punched for the Mon Ami Gabby Pull Ribbon flowers, the threads were taped to the back of the photos to hold them in place.

And that completes my share for today. Here's a view of the dimension that is achieved with the Chipboard pieces!

Hope you've enjoyed your visit to my garden today and I've inspired you to try out some of the Chipboard Embellishments now available at SNS.

Till next time,

And the neon colors look fantastic with the lavender petals. It must have been fun creating this... Like a way to garden during winter. Huggers, de
