Skating Penguin!

Hi there,

I'd like to share my last September 2018 Reveal card. Today I am using the cute Dancing Penguin Stamp Set 913.

I made the background by sticking a piece of Super Adhesive Sheet to the back of the designer paper.

The igloo was created by cutting a piece of a circle out of watercolor paper using a Grand Circle die in the Tangerine and then dry embossing with the Darice Brick Pattern embossing folder.

The snow drifts were made in the same way with Impression Obsession Hills die and then dry embossed with Crafts Too Polka Dots embossing folder. The hills and the igloo were then applied with Moonstone Glimmer Paste. These were set aside to dry while I worked on the Penguin.

The Penguin was stamped in the Stamp Platform in Black Shadow Hybrid Ink. I then removed the top of the Stamp Platform, so I could work on my coloring desk while leaving the image in the same spot on the platform.

I used Aquaflow Watercolors and Nuvo Alcohol Markers with a Blending Pen to color the penguin. The Hybrid ink allows both mediums to be used! Once colored I put the stamp platform back together again and then stamped with Clear Mark ink and heat embossed with Clear Detail over the top of the image. He was then fussy cut with the 5" Mini Scissors.

Brushable Glue and Snow White Flocking was applied to the belly and hat trim.

Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew were applied to the beak, bell and feet for a glossy effect.

I cut out a window for the slider on the designer paper panel.

This was then mounted onto Cobalt Blue Mirror cardstock, leaving a space on the right side where the pull tab will move in and out.

The hills and igloo were mounted on to the card front. A strip of white cardstock was slipped into the slider space. The penguin was attached with mounting tape to the left hand side and a balsa wood arrow was covered with Clear Mark Ink and heat set with Cerulean. The arrow was attached with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The sentiments for the stamp set were stamped in the Stamp Platform with Empire Blue Hybrid Ink. They were then die cut with Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders. The "Sending you" sentiment was layered on to the Cobalt Blue Mirror cardstock.

Snowflakes from the set were stamped in Clear Mark and embossed in White Detail on a strip of the Mirror Cardstock which would then be attached as the base of the easel card with the second sentiment centered on top.

The card base was made and then the card assembled. Here is the card before the penguin emerges!

... and here he is "sliding on by!"

Nature's Elegance

Hi there,

Back again to share with you one of my cards from the awesome October Reveal. Today I am using the beautiful set Lovely as a Leaf Set 869. So appropriate for this time of the year and there are lots of Nuvo products used on this card too.
I began making the background and the leaf embellishments by embossing Tonic Mirror Cardstock Rose Platinum and Harvest Gold with the Darice Foliage embossing folder. I die cut the center out of each background using Sizzix Framelits 661840 Die Set. I fussy cut four of the "gold " center leaves out using my 5" Tonic Mini Scissors. The leaves were used as the embellishments to the Rose Platinum background and then I had the opposite set for another card.
The leaf stamp was stamped with Acorn Brown on white cardstock using the Tonic Stamp Platform.
The lid was removed, and the image was colored with Aquaflow markers, keeping the image in place on the platform.
An acrylic block was used as a paint palette for the markers. The Nuvo Aqua Brush Pen was used as the water brush.
Once the image was dry I applied the Anti Static Bag before applying Nuvo Clear Mark to the stamp again and then returning the lid to the platform the image was stamped over the top of the image and heat embossed with Clear Detail. This gave a nice raised shiny appearance to the leaf.
The same process was done with the sentiment. First Acorn Brown and then Nuvo Clear Mark was heat embossed with Clear Detail.
The leaf image was sponged with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Lemon Sorbet.
Autumn Frost Velvet Glitter was used to make my ribbon twine. I took a piece of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and rolled it up and dipped it in the glitter.
This was then used for the little bow for my leaves along with a copper brad.
Three of the leaves were tied into a "bouquet" with a copper brad and then the sentiment was added with mounting tape and the last leaf was added on top with tear-ific tape. The card front was layered to a black card base and some Nuvo Honey Gold Glitter Drops were added to complete the card.
Here is a list of the products used for my card today. These can all be found on the SNS website for sale just by clicking on them:

Delight in the Beauty!

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share a card which uses the new Lovely Magnolia Set 853 from the September Reveal. Such a pretty and versatile set.

To make the background I cut the Spellbinders Tropical Paradise die from black cardstock. This was layered on to a piece of Super Adhesive Sheet, after removing the protective backing and the new Microfine 24kt Gold glitter was burnished into the exposed adhesive.

The background was layered on to a cream cardbase. Then it was on to the flowers. The small flower was stamped six times onto cream cardstock in Versamark and was then heat embossed with Gold Detail. The large flower was stamped and embossed in Gold Detail once on cream cardstock and then again onto Kraft. The leaves and stem were cut off the cream version using the 5" Mini Scissors. They are so good for fussy cutting! All the little flowers were also fussy cut.

All the flowers were colored with the three Aqua Flow Watercolor Markers: Lemon Zest, Fresh Green and Spiced Ginger. These are wonderful to use for watercoloring, they blend really nicely.

A little Green Iris glitter was applied with the Quickie Glue Pen to the centers of the flowers.

Lemonade glitter was applied to the petals of the flowers again with the glue pen.

The big colored flower was attached to the Kraft version with foam mounting tape. A little of the Nuvo Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mousse was added to the leaves.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark on cream cardstock and was heat embossed with Gold Detail again. This was die cut with the Sizzix Thinlits Dotted Ovals, the next larger die was used to cut the larger oval and these two pieces were sponged with a little Nuvo Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mousse. A little gold thread bow was threaded through a couple of the dots before being layered with Mounting Tape.

The card was then put together as shown using Tear-ific Tape and Mounting Tape.

Here is a list of the products used to make the card, most of which can be found in the SNS store.

Embossing Powders: Gold Detail (EP168)
Inks: Versamark
Nuvo Aquaflow Pens: Lemon Zest, Fresh Green, Spiced Ginger

Magnolia Birthday

Hi there,

Back today with a quick little card from the latest SNS Reveal, starring the Lovely Magnolia Set #853. This is a very versatile set and as you can see from my card I didn't even use the big flower from the set. I chose to make a little shaker card, so the little magnolias worked better.

I die cut the Tonic Happy Birthday from the middle of the white card front.

I then stamped the little magnolia around the die cut seven times in Black StazOn ink, as I was going to use the Nuvo Aqua Flow markers for the coloring.

I used only two Aqua Flow pens on an acrylic block and used that as a little paint palette. These markers really blend well and the tips go into the little spaces, so work well for corners and tight spaces.

After coloring, I made the shaker part of my card. I used mounting tape to make the well, using a piece of tulle instead of acetate. Some Shaved Ice was then put into the well before being covered with black cardstock.

So back now to the front! Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops were added to the orange centers of the flowers. Then Dandelion Yellow, Honey Gold, Banana Split and Orange Marmalade were added around the rest of the card front.

The butterfly die, Little B Butterfly, was cut out and colored with the same Spiced Ginger Aqua flow marker.

This was then applied with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Detail.

It gave the butterfly a lovely shine. The card front was attached to a black layer and then to the white card base. The little butterfly was attached with a couple of cut up pop dots.

Hope you've enjoyed my share today?

Here are the products that were used in making this card, that can be found on the SNS website:

I decided to use the Happy Flowers Set 840. I really love this little set with the fun sentiments and the pretty flowers. This time I chose to do my flowers in a row and use the embossing resist technique. Hope you enjoy my share today.

I began by embossing the sentiment in Versamark and heat setting in Black Detail, the flower image was then stamped to the left and right of the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed this time with White Detail.

After the image and sentiment were heat set, I stamped two of my new inks, Oxide Distress: Peeled Paint and Broken China, onto my craft sheet and then with a water brush, simply brushed the "paint" over the top of the embossing, which resisted the inks perfectly.

Next I started to "paint" with my new Aqua Flow Markers. I used Soft Rose, Fresh Green (Spring Meadow collection) and Aqua Splash (Summer Holiday Collection) and a little Evergreen Fern (Autumn Woodland Collection) to go over the top of the Distress Inks. The markers painted beautifully. They have a very pointed tip that allows you to get in to the tiniest spaces.

I went over the flowers a couple of times, until I was happy with the coverage. Using the Nuvo Fine Tip Glue Pen I applied Cyclamen (G1090) and Spirited Green (G1070) to the flowers and the leaves.

A lovely sparkly effect. Along with the new Aqua Flow Markers, I also used the new Nuvo Glow Drops. I added Banana Split to the centers of the flowers, some Apple Sour to the Grass and then Blue Crush to the sky.

Here (the card on the bottom) is how it looks without the light on it:

... and here it is in the darkness:

I'll be using these Glow Drops in my next two cards coming up this month. Here is a list of the products that you can purchase over on the SNS website.

Versamark, Distress Oxide: Peeled Paint, Broken China
Cyclamen (G1090), Spirited Green (G1070)

Hope you've enjoyed your visit today. Now you need to stop over to the amazing Donna's blog. She is sure to have a show stopper to share with you.
