On Your Special Day

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share another card using the Ornate Greeting Set 880 from the January Reveal along with one of Tonic's beautiful dies, Floral Blooms

I started with making my base panel using the lovely Tonic die, Floral Blooms. I cut a piece of Rinea Glossy Gold Foil with the die.

Cutting the die on the Tangerine gave a wonderfully detailed and clean cut.

A piece of Super Adhesive Sheet was then layered on top of Tonic Harvest Gold mirror cardstock.

The protective layer of the Super Adhesive Sheet was removed and then the foil die cut was placed on top of the adhesive and the new Butterscotch Microfine Glitter was burnished in.

The background was layered on to a cream card base. The sentiment from the Ornate Greetings
was applied with Nuvo Clear Mark ink to cream cardstock and then heat embossed with Gold Detail.
After die cutting with the Spellbinder's Mega Ovals, I sponged on some Nuvo Oyster Pearl embellishment mousse.

The bird chipboard piece was applied with an old Versamark ink pad that I keep specifically for chipboard. I gave the bird two coats of the Gold Detail embossing powder and before the second coat cooled I sprinkled on some Magic Speckle. I love the results that the Magic Speckle gives depending which other powder you add it to. This time it gave off a slightly bluish hue to it.

After attaching the bird to the sentiment with a thin strip of mounting tape, I added the sentiment panel
to the background with a little gold brad and gold thread. Three little Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Drops
were then added to the base of the sentiment. This finished off my card for today.

Thanks for stopping by today. Below you'll find links to most of the products I used to make my card.

Always and Forever!

Hi there,

Today I would like to share with you a shaker card incorporating the Cherished Moments Bride Set 875, from the January Reveal, along with many Tonic products including the Floral Heart Set, Heart Blisters, Mirror Cardstock and embossed papers.

This is one of those cards that took on a completely different spin from what was originally thought of! I had intended making a quilt card using the Tonic Floral Heart Set so set about making different variations of the heart, using the stamp and the dies. together with my Tangerine. These craft papers are best cut with the Tonic Tangerine and Guillotine, I have trouble making clean cuts with the papers otherwise. The papers are actually made of fabrics so tend to tear when I use my Cutterpillar and Big Shot. Before long, I had a plethora of little hearts lying on my desk. There were die cut mirror card, die cut embossed paper, glittered, guilding flaked and heat embossed hearts all over the place! Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of them all, but then I also realized that it was going to make for a rather large card! Here are a couple of them using embossed paper and mirror cardstock, with a die cut piece of Super Adhesive Sheet behind the paper, the negative pieces of the mirror cardstock were inserted into the embossed paper outline:

I used the tweezers from the Tonic Floral Crafters Tool Set to do this, removing each little negative piece from the mirror cardstock and inserting it into its new position within the paper heart.

I had the refills for the Tonic Heart Blister set, which is featured in the January 2018 Multi Project Kit, unfortunately I didn't have the die to go with it, but did some improvisation so that I could use it as the focal part of my new idea! I cut a piece (3 1/4" x 6 3/4") piece of the Craft Perfect cardstock, Blush Heartbeat and using a die from the Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Hearts, I cut out the heart from the center of the cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Cherished Moments Set 875 in Nuvo Clear Mark onto red cardstock, which had been swiped with the anti-static bag first. I used the Tonic Stamp Platform, as I wanted to stamp it a couple of times to get a nice crisp impression. This was heat embossed with Bronzed Rose.

I then removed the protective backing from the bottom of the blister and attached that on top of the sentiment, some beads were slid inside using a glitter spoon and then I removed the rest of the protective backing and enclosed the beads inside the blister.

The beaded shaker was then placed through the die cut piece of blush heartbeat paper.

I took the positive part of the mirrored cardstock and attached it to a piece of Super Adhesive Sheet, which had been die cut with the heart outline. I then placed the negative pieces of the blush heartbeat embossed paper using the tweezers again to make the top heart. This was popped up with mounting tape to the top of the front panel.

The last heart used the positive part of the above embossed paper heart. This was also layered to a piece of Super Adhesive Sheet, cut with the outline heart die, but this time I burnished Peruvian Glitter to the exposed adhesive. This heart was then taped, using 1/4" Tear-ific Tape to a slightly bigger Rose Platinum Mirror cardstock Spellbinders scalloped heart. This was then mounted to the bottom of the panel.

A piece of red frilled thread was attached to the back of the paper panel and this was layered to a 3 1/2" x 7" piece of Rose Platinum mirror cardstock to finish off my project for the day.

Here is a list of the products I used in today's project.

Nature's Elegance

Hi there,

Back again to share with you one of my cards from the awesome October Reveal. Today I am using the beautiful set Lovely as a Leaf Set 869. So appropriate for this time of the year and there are lots of Nuvo products used on this card too.
I began making the background and the leaf embellishments by embossing Tonic Mirror Cardstock Rose Platinum and Harvest Gold with the Darice Foliage embossing folder. I die cut the center out of each background using Sizzix Framelits 661840 Die Set. I fussy cut four of the "gold " center leaves out using my 5" Tonic Mini Scissors. The leaves were used as the embellishments to the Rose Platinum background and then I had the opposite set for another card.
The leaf stamp was stamped with Acorn Brown on white cardstock using the Tonic Stamp Platform.
The lid was removed, and the image was colored with Aquaflow markers, keeping the image in place on the platform.
An acrylic block was used as a paint palette for the markers. The Nuvo Aqua Brush Pen was used as the water brush.
Once the image was dry I applied the Anti Static Bag before applying Nuvo Clear Mark to the stamp again and then returning the lid to the platform the image was stamped over the top of the image and heat embossed with Clear Detail. This gave a nice raised shiny appearance to the leaf.
The same process was done with the sentiment. First Acorn Brown and then Nuvo Clear Mark was heat embossed with Clear Detail.
The leaf image was sponged with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Lemon Sorbet.
Autumn Frost Velvet Glitter was used to make my ribbon twine. I took a piece of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and rolled it up and dipped it in the glitter.
This was then used for the little bow for my leaves along with a copper brad.
Three of the leaves were tied into a "bouquet" with a copper brad and then the sentiment was added with mounting tape and the last leaf was added on top with tear-ific tape. The card front was layered to a black card base and some Nuvo Honey Gold Glitter Drops were added to complete the card.
Here is a list of the products used for my card today. These can all be found on the SNS website for sale just by clicking on them:
