Calla Lilies with Love!

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by! Today I'd like to share my second April Reveal project, which highlights the new Calla Lilies Set 888 along with the jar from an older set, Fill the Jar 423. The jar can now be found in the Bugs in a Jar set 510, featuring the Faux no line watercoloring technique, which blogger friend Verna introduced me to.

For this technique you stamp on to normal printer paper, not cardstock, color in your image and then turn the paper over to get the no line effect. So I began with stamping the Calla Lilies with the Hybrid Safari Green ink using the Stamp Platform.

The jar from the Fill the Jar set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black using the Stamp Platform for positioning.

This was then colored in with Copics.

Turning the paper over you will see that the lines are not seen - and it looks like a watercolor painting. You can use the Copic Blender pen to take away any color that is too "outside the lines" if you wish.

I then cut a piece of 3 1/4" x 6 3/4" piece of Super Adhesive Sheet and centered it on to a piece of white cardstock. My image which measured 3" x 6 1/2", was then centered on top of the Super Adhesive Sheet. This gives a sticky edge to which you are going to apply Daisy (GM2019), Margarita (GM2032) and Ocean Breeze (GM2039) Microfine Glitters. After the glitters were applied I used the Tonic Guillotine and cut off the white edge (which served as rigidity) as the panel will be layered to a piece of 7" x 3 1/2" blue cardstock.

Next I cut out the Tonic Mini Moments With Love die, using the Tangerine - once from blue cardstock and twice from white.

Using the Nuvo Medium Glue Pen, I stuck the three die cuts together.

I placed a little strip of adhesive-backed lace to the top of the jar and filled in any remaining adhesive with the Ocean Breeze Glitter.

Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive was applied to the Die cut piece and it was adhered to the front of the jar.

Some of the adhesive was also applied to the front of the die cut, not completely covering it and then I added some more of the Ocean Breeze glitter, for a slightly distressed look.

Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard were added to the center of the flowers for extra "pop" and dimension.

and that finished off my project for the day.

Hope you've enjoyed my share today. This really is a fun technique, thanks again Verna for the inspiration! Listed below are the materials I used to make my card today, most of which can be found in the Sparkle N Sprinkle store.

Gilded Elephant Birthday Wishes

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by! Today I'd like to share with you a card using the new March Reveal Amazing You Paisley Elephant Set 884. This fun stamp has so many possibilities - I chose to highlight my elephant with the Sunkissed Copper Gilding Flakes.

To begin I took the Nuvo Large Glue Pen and ran it over the surface of the elephant and then stamped on to a piece of black card.

You need to leave it a little while until the "creamy" color goes clear, which means that the glue is ready to be applied with the gilding flakes.

I applied the Sunkissed Copper gilding flakes to the glue. Using a textured dauber I removed the excess flakes.

The Copper Flakes only stay where the glue is.

For the background I cut black cardstock with the Tonic Floral Blooms die using the Tangerine.

This was then placed over a piece of Sticker Paper and then the Gilding Flakes were applied to the sticky surface.

Again, the excess Gilding Flakes were rubbed off using the texture dauber.

A strip of pompoms was stuck to the top of the floral background with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape. I added some Autumn Spice Microfine Glitter over the top of the ribbon, so that any adhesive would be covered.

This was layered to a piece of rust cardstock and I made the easel card base from rust cardstock and attached the front panel to the card base. Next I applied Hybrid Ink Acorn Brown to the elephant stamp and stamped on two scraps of the rust cardstock.

Once this was dry I swiped each piece with the Anti Static bag then stamped the sentiments on to each of the pieces in Nuvo Clear Mark ink and heat embossed with Black Detail.

The sentiments from the same set were cut out and stuck to little black strips that had two folds on either edge so that they would have some height to them to be used as stops for the easel. The elephant was attached with mounting foam to finish off the card.

Hope you've enjoyed my latest share? Here are the products that I used to create my card:

Black Detail (EP171)
Autumn Spice (GM2030)

Note that Sparkle N Sprinkle is trying something new this month instead of our traditional Blog Hop. You will be eligible to win a $20 gift certificate when you leave a comment both here and over on the SNS blog (you must do both to be eligible). One lucky winner will be chosen from one of the Designers' posts on the last day of each month. Whispers of Comfort

Hi there,

Glad you stopped by today! I'd like to share a card I made using the Whispers of Comfort - Hydrangea Set 883, the little flower from the Happiness Greetings Set 886, both sets from the Sparkle N Sprinkle February Reveal. I also used a sentiment from an older Sympathy Set 382.

To begin with I stamped white card with the Nuvo Clear Mark ink and heat embossed with White Detail. Then I took the Distress Oxide Faded Jeans ink pad and swiped the pad over the entire image. The white embossing powder resists the blue ink.

I then took the Nuvo Water Brush and removed the ink from the image, it didn't take out all of the ink, but it took out the majority of the color. I also sprayed water, using the Nuvo Light Mist Sprayer, over the entire image, which gave the background a lovely mottled look.

Then I made my palette of water colors on my acrylic block. I used Aqua flow Pens Spiced Ginger, Lilac Blossom, Indigo Dawn and Fresh green.

The image was colored in - mixing water from the Nuvo Water Brush with the ink from the palette.

After the image was colored I made the frame using the three outside dies of the Tonic Topnote Trellis Layering Die. I cut this in my Tangerine out of the Craft Perfect Ivory Bouquet paper. Look at the detail of this gorgeous paper!

I then used the same two outline dies to cut out a piece of white card, layered with Super Adhesive Sheet.

The protective layer was removed and then the Ivory Bouquet die cut was placed on top, and the new Microfine Ocean Breeze Glitter was applied to the sticky surface.

When I put the colored image behind the frame, I didn't like the way the white lines showed at some spots, so I applied some Ocean Breeze glitter over the white line using the Nuvo Medium tip pen to give a glitter distressed look. Bubblegum glitter was also added to the flowers using the finer tipped Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.

Lemonade glitter was then applied to the butterfly using the Quickie Glue Pen.

The sentiment was stamped in Nuvo Clear Mark and heat embossed with Cerulean. This was then edged with some of the Distress Oxide Ink, Faded Jeans.

The white flowers were sprayed with water using the Nuvo Light Mist Sprayer then I touched the petals with the purple ink from my palette and allowed the ink to bleed into the petals.

When they were dry, I applied Bubblegum Glitter using the Nuvo Medium Glue Pen.

The easel card base was cut using the outside of the Tonic Topnote Trellis Layering Die.

The base was applied with the Oxide Distress Faded Jeans ink. Then the sentiment and flower were stamped in Clear Mark ink on to a piece of pink cardstock, that matched the outside sentiment. I used the Tonic Stamp Platform for this, swiping first with the Anti-Static Bag, to avoid any stray specks of the Cerulean embossing powder.

After assembling the card, I decided to add a few little Wedgewood Blue Nuvo Crystal Drops.

... and those drops finished off my card for today.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today. Below is a list of the materials that I used in my project today, most of which can be found on the Sparkle N Sprinkle Website.

I decided to use the Happy Flowers Set 840. I really love this little set with the fun sentiments and the pretty flowers. This time I chose to do my flowers in a row and use the embossing resist technique. Hope you enjoy my share today.

I began by embossing the sentiment in Versamark and heat setting in Black Detail, the flower image was then stamped to the left and right of the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed this time with White Detail.

After the image and sentiment were heat set, I stamped two of my new inks, Oxide Distress: Peeled Paint and Broken China, onto my craft sheet and then with a water brush, simply brushed the "paint" over the top of the embossing, which resisted the inks perfectly.

Next I started to "paint" with my new Aqua Flow Markers. I used Soft Rose, Fresh Green (Spring Meadow collection) and Aqua Splash (Summer Holiday Collection) and a little Evergreen Fern (Autumn Woodland Collection) to go over the top of the Distress Inks. The markers painted beautifully. They have a very pointed tip that allows you to get in to the tiniest spaces.

I went over the flowers a couple of times, until I was happy with the coverage. Using the Nuvo Fine Tip Glue Pen I applied Cyclamen (G1090) and Spirited Green (G1070) to the flowers and the leaves.

A lovely sparkly effect. Along with the new Aqua Flow Markers, I also used the new Nuvo Glow Drops. I added Banana Split to the centers of the flowers, some Apple Sour to the Grass and then Blue Crush to the sky.

Here (the card on the bottom) is how it looks without the light on it:

... and here it is in the darkness:

I'll be using these Glow Drops in my next two cards coming up this month. Here is a list of the products that you can purchase over on the SNS website.

Versamark, Distress Oxide: Peeled Paint, Broken China
Cyclamen (G1090), Spirited Green (G1070)
Nuvo Glow Drops: Apple Sour, Blue Crush, Banana Split

Hope you've enjoyed your visit today. Now you need to stop over to the amazing Donna's blog. She is sure to have a show stopper to share with you.

Hugs,
