NASTURTIUM SYMPATHY

Hi there,

Today I'm sharing a sympathy card made with the May reveal Nasturtium #2 Set 783.

Nasturtium Sympathy

To begin with, I stamped the nasturtium panel in Versamark on black cardstock and heat embossed with Gold Detail.

I put some bleach into my Waterbrush and colored in the leaves. I let the bleach do it's magic! If you go over areas a couple of times, it will give varied results in the colors. Because the embossed lines are raised, the bleach tends to stay within the lines more easily than if were just stamped.

I made a second panel exactly the same way and then for the third panel, I colored in the flowers instead of the leaves! After trimming the three panels, I taped them together (turning the flower-colored one the other way) and attached them to a piece of Gold Mirror Cardstock.

I made a little sheer gold bow (with my Craft-Dee BowZ tool - this makes these awesome little bows so easy to do!) and attached it to the corner of the base of the card. Then a big gold brad was attached to the center of the bow, through the panel. It was then layered to a black card base.

The sentiment, from Sympathy Set 579, was stamped in Versamark and also heat embossed with the Gold Detail. I cut out the saying using the Spellbinders Media Mixage Die (MD2-001). Then I took the Versamarker and edged the die cut with Gold Detail. This gave a bit of a distressed look to the sentiment. This was then tucked under the bow and attached with a Foam square to give it a little dimension.

Bouquet in a Jar

Hi there,

Today I am sharing a card using the new Thinking of You Set 769 and an old favorite of mine -  Fill the Jar Set 423.

Bouquet in a Jar

I started by stamping the flowers in black Archival Ink before I painted them with the Art Anthology paints, which I had picked up at a Convention a couple of months ago.

Bouquet in a Jar

This paint goes on nice and thick, so it gave the flowers some nice dimension.

I fussy cut them out and applied Dimensional Glue to the centers of the flowers for the gold prills. For the background I ran white cardstock through the Sizzix Dot Matrix Embossing Folder and then I spray painted through the Plaid Ditsy Floral Plastic Stencil using the Art Anthology Sprays.

The jar was stamped in Versamark on Vellum and was then heat embossed with Ice. It was then cut out.

Then I filled in the jar using the Versamarker and more of the Ice embossing powder.

Bouquet in a Jar

The sentiment from the the Thinking of You Set was stamped inside one of the labels from the Fill the Jar Set in Versamark. They were heat embossed with Black Detail.

The flowers were popped up  with Dimensional Foam and taped down at the base. The jar was then attached with tape behind the label, and across the neck of the jar. A sheer yellow ribbon was tied  in a bow around the neck, hiding the tape. The card front was layered to a black card base to finish.

CIRCULAR FRIENDSHIP!

Hi there and welcome,

I know it's been a while since I posted - I had to even go back and see what size font I usually use!! LOL.

OK, I'm not going to bore you with the run down on the past month, suffice it to say - it has been crazy. Finally took some time to get some DT work done - not even close to finished and am leaving Monday to go up to the Manchester, New Hampshire Creative Keepsakes Show. Looking forward to that, but first I have to get done with my Spring Clean-Up at the Church on Saturday.

OK, enough of the excuses! Here is my show and tell for today:

Using the Friendship Flowers Set 702 from this month's reveal, I stamped the image with Versamark ink on white cardstock and heat embossed with Sienna.

I colored the image with watercolor pencils and a Dove Blender Pen. After it was dry I took my Versamarker Pen and "colored" each flower  and then heat set with Clear Detail before cleaning the Versamarker tip, so as not to soil the colors of the different flowers. I worked from lightest to darkest in color). As you can see, this gave a lovely shine to the image:

I sponged some Memento Cantaloupe ink around the watering can image, in order to mute the starkness of the white background.

The circles were made using Spellbinders Standard and Grand Circles. After sticking a piece of Super Adhesive Sheet to white cardstock, I placed the biggest of the Standard and three of the smallest Grand circles on top of the prepared piece on a magnetic plate to keep the circles from moving and ran it through my embossing machine.

I started with the inner circle, pulling off the protective backing and applying Goldenrod Velvet Glitter to that piece. Brushed off the excess with the Glitter Brush and then proceeded with Luau Green and then Tiger Orange. I was trying to tie in the colors from the flowers in the image.

I used the next size Grand circle for the card front, which was attached to the white card base using the same die, but leaving a fold at the top of the white base to attach the card front to - I like to use Brushable Glue to bond the circles, as the glue gives a little wiggle room and you can line it up well before it sticks - for good!!

The friendship sentiment banner was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed in Sienna, fussy cut and popped up with Dimensional Dots, which also prevents the circular card from rolling!

The glitter butterfly is a die from Spellbinders Fanciful Flight cut from a scrap of Super Adhesive Sheet attached to a scrap of white cardstock. After removing the protective backing I sprinkled three Velvet Glitters - Daisy first, then Golden Rod, then Luau Green, burnishing it well with my finger. It was attached to the card front with Dimensional dots.

The two little butterflies are from the Friendship Flowers set. They were stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with Sienna before being fussy cut and popped up on the card front with foam dots.

I'd like to enter my card in the Stampotique Designers Challenge: SDC 191: Circles

Hope you've enjoyed your stay today. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs,
