On Your Special Day

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share another card using the Ornate Greeting Set 880 from the January Reveal along with one of Tonic's beautiful dies, Floral Blooms

I started with making my base panel using the lovely Tonic die, Floral Blooms. I cut a piece of Rinea Glossy Gold Foil with the die.

Cutting the die on the Tangerine gave a wonderfully detailed and clean cut.

A piece of Super Adhesive Sheet was then layered on top of Tonic Harvest Gold mirror cardstock.

The protective layer of the Super Adhesive Sheet was removed and then the foil die cut was placed on top of the adhesive and the new Butterscotch Microfine Glitter was burnished in.

The background was layered on to a cream card base. The sentiment from the Ornate Greetings
was applied with Nuvo Clear Mark ink to cream cardstock and then heat embossed with Gold Detail.
After die cutting with the Spellbinder's Mega Ovals, I sponged on some Nuvo Oyster Pearl embellishment mousse.

The bird chipboard piece was applied with an old Versamark ink pad that I keep specifically for chipboard. I gave the bird two coats of the Gold Detail embossing powder and before the second coat cooled I sprinkled on some Magic Speckle. I love the results that the Magic Speckle gives depending which other powder you add it to. This time it gave off a slightly bluish hue to it.

After attaching the bird to the sentiment with a thin strip of mounting tape, I added the sentiment panel
to the background with a little gold brad and gold thread. Three little Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Drops
were then added to the base of the sentiment. This finished off my card for today.

Thanks for stopping by today. Below you'll find links to most of the products I used to make my card.

Gold Detail (EP168), Magic Speckle (EP175)

Spot the Cow!

Hi there,

Glad you stopped by today. My post today is "spot the cow"! I incorporated two of the new October Reveal sets and an older Set to make my farm scene today.

I incorporated one of the older sets into this design today - the Farm Sweet Farm Set 652. I love this beautiful barn image which I decided needed a sort of aged look - so I stamped the image in Black StazOn using my Tonic Stamp Platform and would then color with Copics. This would give a look of weathered paneling on the barn, as the StazOn will mix with the Copics. The image was restamped as you can see on the photo below it didn't cover all the image. When you have a big image like this the platform really comes in useful. Rather than throwing out several copies until you get it right, you just need to reink in the same place!

The tractor from Farm Fresh Tractor Set 877 and the milk urns from Farm Fresh Set 878 were stamped in Memento Black ink to be colored with Copics. The tractor and milk urns were colored in Copics and then fussy cut with the Tonic 5" Mini Scissors - could not craft without these anymore!!

The picket fence is Kraft cardstock cut with a Martha Stewart punch. This was sponged with Seaspray Green Embellishment Mousse

The barn was then given a background with Memento Summer Sky and Olive Grove inks and the picket fence put in place.

There was a gap on the left side I thought after assembly. So the milk urns were removed from the picture for a bit!

... and a little cow was added! I cut up the group of cows from Farm Fresh Set Cows 877 and masked where it would have to go on the top of the grass. She was stamped with the new Nuvo Acorn Brown ink

The sentiment from the Farm Fresh Tractors Set 877 was stamped in the top left hand corner in the Nuvo Clear Mark ink before being heat embossed with Sienna (fine detail embossing powder and rustic).

By placing this on the Tonic Stamp Platform you can use the grid to get it straight the first time and not mess your project up!!!

The cardfront was layered to a piece of burlap and then Kraft cardstock, for a fun rustic look! The tractor and the replaced milk urns were attached with mounting tape to finish off the card.

Hope you've enjoyed your visit to the farm today? Here are the products that were used on my card today, most of which can be found on the SNS website:

Robin Wreath Christmas Greetings

Hi there,
I'm back today with another card from the SNS July Reveal using the cute Winter Greeting Bird and Wreath Set 855.
I ran the Sizzix Holly embossing folder with green cardstock through my embossing machine. Spring Green Nuvo Embellishment Mousse was then sponged on the piece.
The wreath image was stamped in Versamark on white cardstock and was heat embossed with Christmas Green. I fussy cut with my Tonic Mini Scissors then the holly leaves were colored with a Copic Green marker and then the Spring Green Mouse was sponged around the inner and outer edges.
The berries were colored with the Red Berry Nuvo Crystal Drops. I did this in stages so the drops would dry between applications, so that they didn't become one large berry!
The robins were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. I fussy cut them with my Tonic 5" Mini Scissors. I took a strand of 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and rolled it between my hands to make a little rope and then passed it through a "puddle" of Gypsy Red Velvet Glitter to make a sparkly little red rope!
I then took a silver brad and dipped it in the Versamark pad and heat set it with Red Apple. This was wrapped around the little rope bow and attached to the bottom of the wreath.
The wreath was then popped up on the embossed background and with mounting tape and the little birds were attached with tape and foam as shown. This was layered to red cardstock before being layered to a white card base. The sentiment was stamped on glossy white in Versamark and heat set with Christmas Green, was fussy cut and attached with mounting tape.
This finished up my card for today, Below are the products used on this card. Just click on the item to find them in the SNS store.

So, on with my card. First I stamped the sentiment from the new Spirit of Christmas Poinsettias Set 862 in Versamark and then heat embossed with Gold Detail embossing powder. This is a lovely fine powder and it is great for detailed stamps.

Then I stamped the larger image three times in Versamark and heat embossed again with the Gold Detail

I then fussy cut the actual Poinsettia flowers with my Tonic 5" Mini snips. These scissors cut beautifully and they don't get gunky with adhesive which is their best attribute!

I cut the sentiment with the Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles and then started to arrange the flowers above and below the sentiment, some attaching with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and others with Mounting Foam, to give it more dimension.

I used a freebie Poinsettia embossing folder that I received with a magazine. After running the white cardstock through the machine, I sponged on some Indian Gold Nuvo Embellishment Mousse, just to give it some gold highlights.

This was then layered on to Gold Mirror Cardstock. This is difficult to photograph, but looks really nice in real life!

I scored around the edge of a white piece of card to which the Gold Mirror Cardstock was layered. Then the white layer was attached to a gold card base. I then added a few different sized Honey Gold Nuvo Glitter Drops around the card to finish it off.

Hope you liked my project and are enjoying seeing the team's creations with this month's fun sets. Next on the hop is our talented Jess.

Amazing Mom!

Hi there,

Glad you've stopped by. Today I'd like to share another card from the June Reveal using the Baby, Oh Baby Set 875.

I did a little paper-piecing on this project. First I stamped the image on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored everything but the dress with Copics. She was then fussy cut.

Then I stamped the image again on the designer paper in Versamark, and before heat setting. I brushed off the Black Detail powder from the rose.
I fussy cut the dress after heat setting and then I covered the entire dress with Versamark and heat set with Clear Detail.

Using the new Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive 200n, which comes as a fine point applicator, I attached the dress to the colored image.
After die cutting the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Decorative Elements from white cardstock I daubed Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Peony Pink and Lilac Lavender
I ran the colored circle through my machine with the Darice Hearts Embossing Folder. This was attached to the designer paper used for the dress and then layered to a white card base.
I trimmed the girl using the decorative die cut at her legs so that she would match the bottom of the circle. I punched a small hole in front and behind her hand for the rose to go through. She was attached with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape at the legs and then her head was attached with Mounting Tape. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Mulberry. After cutting out the sentiment, I sponged a little Lulu Lavender around the edges. A white bow was tied around the circle and then the sentiment was attached with Mounting Tape. Nuvo Glitter Drops Sherbert Shimmer were added to the bottom of the sentiment and card base. The same drops were added to the pink of the headband and when this was dried I went in with Nuvo Crystal Drops Ebony Black to add the centers to the flowers.
Here is a list of the SNS product that was used to make this card:
Stamp Set Baby, Oh Baby #857
Embossing Powders: Black Detail (EP171), Clear Detail (EP280), Mulberry (EP415),
