Reindeer Snow Globe Shaker

Hi there,

Well, here we are again - December! That was the quickest year ever, wasn't it? My December header is a little herd of deer in our front yard, enjoying all those extra acorns that Mother Nature provided for them this year! My first card for December is for the Dies R Us Design Team and also includes a deer - a snow globe shaker card, using the Memory Box Evergreen Reindeer and the Tutti Cross Stitched Nesting Circles.

Here are the dies I used:

Tutti Designs - Cross Stitch Nesting Circles

I ran both dies through the big shot at the same time.

In an effort to make it look like a snow globe, I used the Spellbinders Mega Ovals Large to cut a base - cutting it out first and then die cutting another piece out of the "top" - from a piece of wood-grained self-adhesive cardstock.

I then stuck acetate to the back of the "globe" with double stick tape.

A piece of digi paper was attached to the front of a white card base for the background. Happy Holidays from an old Sparkle N' Sprinkle Set was stamped in Versafine Clair Monarch under the globe and heat set with Clear embossing powder.

Mounting tape was then attached to the back of the globe panel.

A few spoons of Stampendous Shaved Ice was then added on top of the background paper.

The top panel was then placed on to the card base to finish off my card.

Magnolia Birthday

Hi there,

Back today with a quick little card from the latest SNS Reveal, starring the Lovely Magnolia Set #853. This is a very versatile set and as you can see from my card I didn't even use the big flower from the set. I chose to make a little shaker card, so the little magnolias worked better.

I die cut the Tonic Happy Birthday from the middle of the white card front.

I then stamped the little magnolia around the die cut seven times in Black StazOn ink, as I was going to use the Nuvo Aqua Flow markers for the coloring.

I used only two Aqua Flow pens on an acrylic block and used that as a little paint palette. These markers really blend well and the tips go into the little spaces, so work well for corners and tight spaces.

After coloring, I made the shaker part of my card. I used mounting tape to make the well, using a piece of tulle instead of acetate. Some Shaved Ice was then put into the well before being covered with black cardstock.

So back now to the front! Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops were added to the orange centers of the flowers. Then Dandelion Yellow, Honey Gold, Banana Split and Orange Marmalade were added around the rest of the card front.

The butterfly die, Little B Butterfly, was cut out and colored with the same Spiced Ginger Aqua flow marker.

This was then applied with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Detail.

It gave the butterfly a lovely shine. The card front was attached to a black layer and then to the white card base. The little butterfly was attached with a couple of cut up pop dots.

Hope you've enjoyed my share today?

Candle Birthday Wishes

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share with you a card that I made using two of the new fun Tonic Invite Dies: Celebration Candles and Happy Birthday.

I die cut the Celebration Candles from white cardstock twice and colored them with all three sets of the new Nuvo Glitter Markers. This gave the candles a nice sparkly appearance.

Nuvo Dandelion Yellow Crystal Drops were added for the flames. The two candle pieces were set aside to dry, while I worked on the shaker portion.

I die cut the Happy Birthday from the center of a piece of black cardstock.

A piece of tulle was taped down with 1/4" Tearific Tape behind the Happy Birthday and then I made a "well" for my shaker with mounting tape. Shaved Ice was put into the well. The taped area was then covered with white cardstock.

The candle pieces were glued on to the top and bottom of the front panel with the Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. This has a fine applicator so was great for just running along the backs of the candles.

The front panel was layered to white cardstock and then to a black card base to finish off my card for today.

Hope you've enjoyed my share today. Below is a list of the products that I used that can be found on the SNS website:
