CCC Butterfly Snowflake

Hi there! Hope you are all doing well? Things here are improving. Getting out and about and although we can go into stores without masks, we're keeping ours on for the time being. It feels so good to have things open up a bit.

I've been getting out to do activities with some of my Master Gardener friends - nice to be interacting with other humans again!

My June header is the first Monarch I've seen this year. It was visiting  my Waystation, though I didn't find any eggs.

My card today is for the Christmas Craft Creations Design Team. Our theme this month is Heat Embossing. I hope you will play along with us in the challenge, I chose to emboss with different powders through a homemade stencil.

I had a piece of card that I must have die cut, when I was making my Christmas cards last year, which had obviously been used for stenciling before, so instead of putting colored inks through the "stencil", I used Versamark ink on to white glossy cardstock. (I used my embossing buddy over the cardstock first).

Then I chose 4 blue/silver embossing powders to sprinkle on one at a time, in different areas of the sticky snowflake. I started with Silver Detail.

Once I had finished applying all four embossing powders, I heat embossed and there was one little bit that wasn't clear on the left hand side. So I replaced the stencil and used the Versamarker pen and added a little more ink and embossing powder to that area. It was quickly heat embossed.

I looked for a sentiment and finally found one that was perfect for me! It was from an old Sparkle N Sprinkle set called Winter Swirl! You know how I love my butterflies!

I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair Paradise and then heat embossed with Clear Detail.

I found a blue frame that worked perfectly size wise and I used strips of mounting tape to add it around the sparkly snowflake and sentiment. A piece of silver thread was tied to the spine of the card to finish it off. Below are the products that I used in my project:

Sparkle N Sprinkle Winter Swirl Stamp Set

Snowflake Stencil

Versafine Clair Paradise Ink pad

Versamark Ink pad

Versamarker

Embossing powders:

Silver Detail, Silver Lightning,

Blue Silver, Electric Blue, and Clear Detail

I hope I have inspired you to come join in the fun of Heat Embossing, over at the Christmas Craft Creations Challenge?

Till next time, stay safe!

Won't You come in to my Garden?

Hi there,

Today I'm here to share with you my first June Reveal card. I used the sentiment and rose from the My Wild Rose Set 898, along with a stencil and some of the new Nuvo Mica Mist Silver Smoke to create my card today.

I actually only used the sentiment and the single rose from the set as I wanted to try out the new Nuvo Mists with a stencil. I began with spraying the Silver Smoke Mica Mist through a stencil (TCW Mini Butterfly Meadow) on to white cardstock. These Mica Mists have a lovely pearly sheen to them.

I then tried it on black cardstock.

Since I couldn't decide which version I liked better, I decided to use both. I tore the white piece diagonally and attached it on top of the black version. I used 1/4" Tear-ific Tape around the edges and some Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive along the ripped edge to make sure it would lie flat and match up well.

I used the left-over sprayed piece of the black cardstock for the sentiment, as I loved the mottled look. So the piece of scrap cardstock was put in the Stamp Platform and stamped with Nuvo Clear Mark and was then heat embossed with White Detail.

I then ran it through the Tangerine with the Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles die.

I then stamped the single rose from the set on to pink card with Nuvo Clear Mark ink and heat embossed with Black Detail. This was then fussy cut using the 5" Mini Scissors.

The card was assembled with the sprayed background being layered to the same pink cardstock that I stamped the rose on. Then the sentiment was added with Craft Perfect Foam Pads. Two little pink roses were then tucked in behind the sentiment and the stamped rose.

Nuvo Crystal Drops Party Pink were then added to the little flower ends.

... and that finished off my card for today.

Here is a list of the products that I used for my card, most of which can be found in the Sparkle N Sprinkle store:

My Wild Rose Set 898
White Detail (EP298)
TCW Stencil Mini Butterfly Meadow
Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles
2 roses

I'd like to join in the following challenges:
Craft Stamper June Challenge: Anything Goes
Classic Design Team Open June Challenge: Anything Goes

I hope you have enjoyed my share today? Please give these new Mica Mists a try - they really do have a lovely sheen to them and there are many pretty colors to choose from. Also, don't forget to check out the Facebook Creative Challenge! Fun contests and certificates to be won! All you have to do is submit a card where you used a Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp (and if you don't have a stamp you can use one of the free digis). Go check it out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today,

GELATOS CHICKEN RUN

Hi there,

Today I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I have recently been playing around a bit with Gelatos, so decided to have a go at making a little canvas creation.

Gelatos Chicken Run

First I took a blank 5" x 7" canvas and scribbled Yellow, Orange and Red Gelatos over it. I took a baby wipe and using a circular motion I blended the gelatos into one another to create a "sunset" hue.

I dried this with my heat tool, before proceeding.  Then I took a stencil (TCW Mini Meadow) and stencil brush and began to create a meadow with grass, stems, butterflies and flowers, using different colors of Gelatos:

I kept going until I had an entire meadow. Then it was time to add my chickens, from the Chicken Run Set 761, using Versamark and Black Detail embossing powder:

So now it needed some dimensional elements and I did want to include a sentiment from the set, which was stamped on white cardstock in Versamark and heat embossed with Black Detail. The chickens stamped out like they were made of burlap, because of the canvas backing, so I decided to make a burlap frame to be in-keeping with the chickens:

I cut a piece of burlap ribbon in half and attached it around the sentiment using 1/2" Tear-ific Tape, this was then colored with Yellow and Red Gelatos and dabbed with the wipe again to tie it in with the background.

I repeated the Gelatos and wipe technique with three Prima flowers, whose centers were made by "blinging" a brad with Tequila Sunrise embossing powder after applying Versamark to the brad. Then a Sakura Glue pen was used to add Sparkling Snow glitter to the petals to give them some sparkle.

The frame and the flowers were attached to the canvas with dimensional foam. I added dots to the butterflies and flowers with a white Signo pen, for some highlights.

... and I added some gold Prills with Dimensional Glue at the chickens feet for seed.

Gelatos Chicken Run

I think I might be doing some more of these. Kind of liked having a play date in my craft room today! Hope I've inspired you to get those Gelatos out and start playing!

Enjoy your day!
